You could upgrade your flight to one with a WGA+ fare. That would allow a SAME DAY no cost change to another flight.
Of course the risk is that the flight you really want is not available, and the only thing you accomplish is paying the higher WGA+ fare..

Hi Joann.
Southwest has no control over Chase credit card practices - but Chase does. Thus the place to complain is Chase.
Yours is not the only complaint of this type. The problem is that Chase offers multiple credit card bonus programs at the same time, and apparently it is pretty easy to think people are signing up for one program when they sign up, inadvertently, for a different one.

If seats were assigned, this wouldn't irritate me so much but if I get an A-20 boarding pass now the first 8 rows of aisle seats are taken by the time I board.
Well that is certainly bad luck for you. In the 100+ flights I've had from 2000 thru 2023, I don't think that I've ever had to sit any further back than row 9, .and I always go for aisle seats.
Remember though, that on continuing flights, anyone on the plane can move way up to the front, too. So you are not just competing with pre boarders
Can't something be done about this, like tell them they CAN'T sit in the first 10 rows???
Nope that would require the airline to discriminate against them, and that is verbotten by law.

Dear Southwest,
I booked a flight to San Juan for my job at the university. Unfortunately we had to cancel due to the state of Emergency in Puerto Rico due to the earthquakes. Immediately afterwards, the global pandemic hit and the university freezed travel in 2020.
Lemme get this right ... you waited THREE YEARS to inquire about this. ????? It must not have been very important to you.
Now you are indignant????????
You had ample opportunity to fix this in 2020 - when the airline was being very liberal in handling pandemic related ticket issues. For whatever reason you did not.
Sorry, but, you snooze. you lose.

1) Log in to your RR account
2) Start the process of buying a flight - indicting you want to use points (by default it will assume it will be your points
3) Pick the flight (s) you want to book
4) Continue and input the other person's name birth date, sex, etc.
5) Input a valid payment method for government fees
6) Input the other person's RR number if you have it
Hit buy

Just about every airline goes thru this in the negotiating process -- EVERY time a contract comes due for virtually every employee group.
Delta pilots just got a new contract - but only after threatening a strike.
American pilots are threatening a strike - but have no contract yet.
This negotiating process seems to happen regularly.at just about every airline. Regarding your concern about a strike actually happening on May 1, perhaps you could tell us when any airline union actually went on strike. The answer to that question will tell you the likelihood of a May 1 walkout actually happening.

The 25k points program and reimbursement for expenses incurred during the meltdown are both allowed. Receiving one does not negate the other.
The only thin I can suggest is sending another e-mail and specifically state that you have been told that you should have received communication about the 25k, but you have not received it.

If your cancelled flight was on or after 1/3/23, then I am surprised the airline reimbursed anything. The normal procedure is to simply refund the ticket purchase price.
The procedure allowed some reimbursement for Christmas "meltdown" expenses on flights thru 1/2/23.

It shouldn't make any difference who checks in. There are reports of pass holders being A-List
and "paying" customer not, and the paying customer gets a sequential spot with the pass holder.
That being said, anyone can check in anyone else using the confirmation number and ticket holder name.

The only way to do that is to ask the airline to transfer points from one person to another.
Problem is you have to pay SW to do this. The cost is about a penny a point .
The transaction wipes out a large percentage of the value of points. Thus it is not advised.

But if you want to actually accomplish something other than venting, then themiddleseat is right. You'll need to complain directly to the airline.

For the most part, you have to fly to earn A list. You earn 1500 Alist qualifying points with every $10000 you spend on the card, bit it takes 35, 000 points to earn a list. So I guess you could earn a list by spending $240,000
Sign up bonus points don’t count.

Hello,
I submitted a refund request, and got a payment for around half. No explanation. It says its the final payment.
I called Customer service and they said to send a email. So I sent a email and no reply.
How long since you sent the e-mail , Patty? Since SW is processing tens of thousands of claims, it might be as prompt with e-mail replies as it normally is.

Perhaps SW has given extra time in 2023 for those trying to qualify with 125k points during 2022. And since I got all 125k in January 2023 I was awarded the 2023 CP, while still able to qualify for the next year with the finalized 10k.
Mystery solved.
SW DID extend the time that people could qualify for 2022 CP. It was extended to 1/31/23.
So what apparently happened is you qualified for 2022 CP which would be good in 2022 and 2023 -- but not 2024.
Since you got the points in 2023 you also are up for 2023 CP - which would be good in 2023 and 2024.

That's great info. Can you tell me how to sign into my child's RR account? I have RR numbers for all 3 of my children. I tried to create a new account to sign into, using their RR number. However, the system is telling me that the birthdate is too young to allow an account to be set up. All 3 of my children should have enough points to buy a ticket now, but I cannot figure out how to see their points balance. TIA!
If your children already have RR accounts, you should not need to create new accounts.
Click on "my account" Input RR number
If you do not know the passwords, then simply click on "need help logging in."
You can reset the passwords there, or if the accounts were never set up, you can do that there, too.
