Using RR points in no way affects your current year progress towards CP.
What counts is earning points.

15 minutes ago my wife with a A3 boarding number had to wait for almost 1/2 the plane to pre board.
What happened to business class boarding? We pay top dollar to get onto the plane for a good seat and there nothing up front left. How long is, SW going to allow all the free loading.
My last trip saw people wheel chairs on the plane and ran off the plane when it landed. There is no enforced handicap policy. POLICY IS A JOKE
It's not a POLICY. It is a FEDERAL LAW. If you don;t like the law, tell your congress people you want it changed. Lotsa luck with that one.

I’ve reviewed their contract of carriage and I believe their system is wrong. If anything it should have cancelled the flight I hadn’t checked into, not the flight I had a ticket to.
?????
but you had TWO TICKETS -- and the CofC does not specify which of the two will be cancelled .

Sorry to hear about your mother. Hope things improve for her.
It's easy to do what you want. Have your mother use the travel fund to buy a Wanna Gwt Away+ ticket, and then cancel the ticket. The new travel fund will be eligible for transfer to any other Rapid R ewards account holder.

Well, the contract of carriage does forbid double ticketing. So, if you do it, you should be prepared for the consequences. When it's done, the airline will cancel one of the tickets. Which one? I dunno.
If you feel a need to do it, use two airlines. United lets you cancel and use all the funds from the canceled ticket. I don;t know about the others.

Thanks for sharing Andre!!
Do you remember your first WN flight and what was the route?
The reason I ask is although I'm not 83 (I'm 72), but I do remember my first WN flight: DAL/LBB in March 1978. Ahhh, the days of free liquor for all.

What others think makes no difference. What do you think?
If you think you need to pre board, then pre board. That is what the law says.

SW is dealing with a federal law and doing what the law requires SW to do. If you don;t like the law, tell your congressman that you want it changed. Lottsa luck with that one.
As far as your point "There is no reason to spend for an A1-15 seat if I get to sit in row 9 at best." I'll call that what it is: BS. I fly maybe 35 times a year and have for years. I Never have A1-A15, but frequently have A35+. I also change flights a lot at the last minute which means I end up with C boarding positions, but since I'm A-List I can board at what would be A61.
Can you guess how many times I've had to sit behind row 8? Hmmmmm? ZERO TIMES

Actually, several airlines in N. America allow you to purchase a seat for your crated dog. Jet Blue is one of them.
Yup, but it appears that Jet Blue passengers who do so must pay the $125 pet fee PLUS the cost of the seat. Further, the pet must be stowed under a seat for significant portions of the flight - just like at Southwest

Since wheel chair assistance is the responsibility of the airport, perhaps you should also complain to the airport authority and perhaps the mayor

I have to think this issue is tied to you and you alone. Why would I say that? Answer: because no one else is reporting the problem, and I suspect you are not the only person who wants to rent from Hertz in MSP.
What happens if you try to rent from a different company?

We don't know, nor does Southwest make you aware of the dangers of losing money like this when you utilize their website.
Ahhhh, yes it does. It's in the published rules, but you actually have to READ the rules to see them
"EarlyBird Check-In can be transferred only if the new flight departs more than 25 hours from the time of the change. If the new flight departs in less than 25 hours, then you will lose your non-refundable EarlyBird Check-In purchase. Additionally, if the change to your reservation involves a new city pair(s), you will need to contact us to have the EarlyBird Check-In transferred."
Second, this is BAD BUSINESS. i have been a loyal Southwest customer for years and to be treated this way is terrible. I will now look to other airlines to be treated better. MAJOR FAIL SOUTHWEST!!!
Do you have any idea how many thousands of statements like that are made to Southwest, American, United, Delta and EVERY other airline every year?

DON'T do it.
It costs you a penny a point to do the transfer. Points are worth about 1.3 cents each. So you lose 70% of the value when you transfer points. Use your points to buy the other person a ticket intad.
