What are the requirements for flight attendants (age, weight, training, how far you can live from home base, pay rates, etc.). I have been in Administration and Management for a very long time and am looking for a career change. I would like to move to New Orleans, but have family in New Mexico and since I love to travel would love to relocate but also be able to afford seeing my kids and grandkids throughout the year.

I was reading this conversation and thought I would chime in. I'm a soon-to-be-retired teacher and would love to be a flight attendant after I retire (I'm tetiring early). Would you please send me the qualifications as well?
Thank you!

Pls let me know the "height" requirements to become a Flight Attendant for Southwest Airlines? Or requirements for "reach"? Where/Which bases are the Flight Attendants required to work from?

Hi, @angel11,
Welcome to the Community! There is not a height or reach requirement to become a Flight Attendant for Southwest Airlines. We have ten bases out of which our Flight Attendants can be based: Phoenix, Orlando, Houston, Dallas, Las Vegas, Denver, Oakland, Baltimore, Chicago (Midway), and Atlanta. Bases are assigned according to operational need and seniority. We hope to see your application next time our Flight Attendant position is posted!
