Travel Fund Workaround still viable option?

I have 4 separate travel funds banked and was wondering if the travel fund workaround still works like it did when travel funds used to expire? I'd like to use all 4 funds to purchase my next ticket.

Yes, you can create a booking using the funds and then when you cancel it the result is one combined travel credit.

Can someone help me? I cancelled a flight that used 3 credits and it refunded back to those 3 and not as one.
