Hi, I have read the Southwest policy about traveling with cremated remains. I also contacted Southwest customer service (called and emailed) but wasn't given a straight answer.
My loved ones are sealed in a wooden container. Southwest doesn't specify whether wood is approved or not. I definitely do not want to take the aahes out.
According to TSA, wood can be xrayed and is approved for air traveling.
