I had to do internships for my major, too, & certainly enjoyed my experiences. I was sad to see my internship time end, but was very glad to get my diploma! 🙂 I just will be so glad when I join the SWA family!

Ah, I see! I didn't realize Continental (which I've also flown before) didn't have DC-8s.

Isn't the second picture a Continental Airlines plane? I'm thinking that's their old color scheme. The pictures almost look eerie (I don't mean that in a bad way!), & they're so neat. :)
When I was going to MCO last month, I changed planes in STL. While I was waiting for my flight from STL, I saw a Pan Am plane! I've obviously not seen that airline for a long time! I can't remember when they last flew. I took a picture of the plane, but it was a little far away. I can still tell what it is, though.

Herb Kelleher should be number one, not five! I don't understand why he's not. Oh well, nobody asked me. :(

I should have said I'll have to decide who will participate in different parts of the ceremony, such as the flower girl, maid of honor, etc., because I want as many people as possible! 🙂 For example, if Kim sings, he can sing, & if FA Carole plays an instrument, she can play one in addition to my church organist!

Once I go to work for Southwest (whenever that happens to be!), maybe I'll marry a CSA or an FA (or another employee there). In addition to having my senior minister or one of my associate ministers officiate, Herb can officiate, too! Then, Colleen can be my bridesmaid & Gary Kelly can be the ringbearer! All other employees will be invited, of course, as well as my blogging friends, other friends, & family. I'll have to decide who I'll have participate in other parts of the wedding. I will have a bouqet of peanuts, crackers, pretzels, & candy corn to toss; my theme will be Southwest, of course, with the SWA cake, napkins, & cups. We will use SWA plates for the cake. The invitations will be decorated with theme painted planes. 🙂

Oooh, I LUV storms! 🙂 Thanks for another interesting post, Captain Ray! It's interesting to read about what goes on in the cockpit.
That reminds me; when I was coming home from Peru (1999), I went N/S from Lima to Miami, Miami to DAL, & DAL to TUL. When the plane landed in Miami & taxied off the runway, it started storming all of a sudden. The radar was knocked out & the airport was closed for a while. All we could do, of course, was sit & wait for the storm to pass. Once it did, the airport reopened & we pulled up to the gate. I got off, went through customs, & got back on.

P.S. I do already know how to pass out snacks! I just need trained for everything else! 🙂 Now, as for CSA, I need trained on everything, except for taking the tag off (with my destination, etc., on it) before checking in, putting my bag on the scale to weigh, & putting in on the conveyor belt; well, I've never done the last thing.
I'll start the petition to hire Kim & me now:
1. Paco Cerda, aka Jedi Blog Master
2. Leah Johns
3. Kim Seale
4. Name unknown-the lady who made that comment :)
5.

I look at the Positions section on the Careers page & am wondering what positions, besides those listed, might ever be offered at HDQ. I saw one for a Receptionist position (I forgot the exact title), but that's the only one I think I'd be qualified for. When I send in my resumÃ

I don't have my area decorated at work, though I'd like to at least have pictures. I work in Activities, so I'm out of the Activities Center quite a bit & with the residents. At home, though, I have some of my SWA collection on display; I have letters framed on display, playing cards, last year's (June 2006) Spirit magazine, & other things. I also have a Spirit plane hanging from my ceiling fan & I need to air up my other one an FA gave me on my way home from MCO!
Maybe you could post pictures from previous SWA events; that's just a thought.

How did your trip go, & how many cities have you driven to? It's too bad you didn't fly SWA! Maybe next time. AAt leaAAst you didn't fly AAnother AAirline! 🙂

Oh, Shari, do you think my work as Activity Assistant (with elderly) might help me for SWA? I'm asking because I feel it shows I LUV to have fun, & I'm definitely not afraid to be my silly self! I don't consider it to be customer service (I do have experience in that), but it shows I'm a people person; plus, I LUV making the residents laugh! 🙂 I definitely have a sense of humor!

You're welcome, Nicole! I know when I interviewed for FA & CSA last year, I felt it was going to happen; I really thought I'd get picked for training. I didn't feel quite as good after my second RSA interview, though. At my second FA interview, the FA who interviewed me said there are no right or wrong answers. When I think about it, I feel like I didn't sound very confident. That could be why, or part of the reason why, I wasn't selected. Well, we won't give up! When I was coming back from MCO this week, one of the FAs I was talking to said it will happen. You & I need to keep telling ourselves that & keep thinking positively. I still imagine myself as a CSA & an FA.

Aww, thanks everyone! I appreciate the messages! I had a great birthday! I took pictures of my cake, which said SWA LUV! It sure tasted good. I still have some left. *Passes out cake.* Ah, I'd love to be 21 again, but I don't feel any older!
Hey, that's neat you & I have our birthdays a day apart, Mary! My youngest niece has the same birthday as you! I hope you had a good vacation wherever you went!
Today at work, I saw one of the residents had some candy corn in her room! I had to smile at that! :)
Kim, I'm sure glad I didn't fly AAnother AAirline to MCO! I got to help serve snacks, get my pictures taken with the FAs & one of the pilots, & one FA gave me another inflatable Spirit plane! I wish it were last Thursday, because I had my trip to look forward to! I had a wonderful time.
Yes, Eric, I'd like to have your email please. We can chat more about interviewing with SWA. That would be great!
I didn't get a card from Francisco. I bet he doesn't have my address! That's a good one.

Some other reasons I want to work for SWA are because of the Company's excellent safety record, they're great about being on time, & I always have great service! I really cannot see myself working for any other airline.
I know SWA doesn't hire FAs over 60, but is there an age limit on CSAs? I'll be 31 tomorrow, so I obviously have awhile to go until I'm 60!

Wow, Nicole! Are you serious? That's too bad! 😞 Well, don't give up! I want to work for SWA because I LUV traveling, working with people, I LUV to fly, am very outgoing & feel I have the right personality for the company! I'm personable & not afraid to be my goofy self! Plus, I've wanted to work for this airline since elementary school. Those are just some of the reasons.
Perhaps there's another position you can try for now & maybe you can try again next year for CSA
