You're welcome, Scott! Yes, I think it would be perfectly fine to tell them you're willing to relocate to DTW (Detroit). I feel it shows you're flexible. I know I'm definitely willing to go anywhere Southwest sends me! 🙂

Thanks for the update! God bless, & we'll be glad when you come home! Thanks for all you do.

That's great, Scott! It sounds like things are going well, & if you pass those, you'll get a job offer; then, they'll either place you in a pool or determine the start date & schedule training.

Yes, I've noticed they've been missing lately, too! 😞 Hopefully, they'll be back soon.
I hope I can track down the candy corn to see if it's been delivered! I'll have to try. Thanks! 🙂

I would LUV to invest stock with Southwest! 🙂 I really would.
Ding! boy Joe, I've been having the same problem with the blog. Maybe I need to send Brian some more candy corn! 🙂

Joe, I'm not sure! I would think he did though, because I took it to the UPS place near my home on a Monday evening two weeks ago, I believe. I'm assuming they sent it out that Tuesday, so surely he received it! 🙂 I'll feel embarrassed if it melted, though. 😞

HI, Ricky! Thanks, & you're welcome. I wish you well in your goal to become part of the SWA family, too!
I'm really not sure what road blocks are keeping me from my goal. I've tried to find out what I can to do to improve my chances of being invited for training, but never received responses. 😞 I'm overqualified because I have an AA & a BA degree, but I know there are other employees out there with degrees! I had an FA once when I was coming back from MCO (Orlando) last month who'd been a doctor! If he can get hired, so can I! Another thing I think is that I may not have sounded confident in my interviews. I just don't know though, & still wonder.
Well, please keep us updated! 🙂

I forgot one more thing, Ricky. You may or may not know the day of your Group Interview if you're invited back for a one-on-one. At my Flight Attendant (FA) Group Interview last year in July, I found out that day I was invited back for a second. They had time for only five interviews that day, so the five who couldn't come back stayed; the rest of us chose from three days in August. I was back on another SW plane in August for mine. When I interviewed for Customer Service Agent (CSA) in CMH (Columbus) last October, we all had to wait to see if we were going to be invited back. I got a call about three weeks later, saying I was going for a one-on-one! I had it in November, so less than a month after the first one, I was on another plane for the second! You know about the RSA ones. 🙂
If you don't get called back for another interview the day of your first one, it doesn't mean you're not getting invited. You'll just be in suspense for a few weeks!
SWA LUV to all, & to all a good flight!
Oh, I just had another idea. I'd LUV to see Southwest sell puzzles, such as ones with theme painted plane designs, on the Freedom Shop! Mouse pads would be cute, too!

I forgot to say, Ricky, that you have to successfully complete the one-on-one interview before they do the background check & drug screening.

Hi, Scott. It may be 3-4 weeks before you hear anything; at least that's what I've been told at interviews for positions with then. If you successfully complete the second interview, you have a bacground check & drug screening; you have to pass those before going for training.
Keep us posted! 🙂

Hi, Ricky! I had my RSA interviews at the Reservations Center in OKC; had I been picked for training, that's where would I'd work. Anyway, after I checked in upon arrival, I (just like everyone else) got a sheet with four questions; you pick one to answer. You can write it down. I don't remember off the top of my head if we had to fill out any other papers. Then, when it was time, we all went into a room but I don't remember how we sat; I forgot if it was alphabetical order or some other way. Actually, I want to say now it was according to birth month, but don't quote me on that! 🙂 Then, the Group Information Session began. A Recruiter & RSA conducted it. Afterwards, we had a short break, & then began the Group Interview. We went around the room, in the order we sat (which was like a U shape, with the Recruiter & RSA at the front), stood up, introduced ourselves, said which one of the four questions we were going to answer, & gave our response. When the interview was done, everyone left the room (the ones interviewing us included). The two of them went to another part of the big room (it looked somewhat like a cafeteria, only with vending machines, a sink, etc!) & we all sat down to wait while they discussed who they wanted to call back for a second interview. When they began reading off names, they went in ABC order. I was chosen, & after each person's name was read, we went back to the same room, were asked if we could stay that day, & (I was able to) then we were given a choice of time to be interviewed. After that, we got our application & filled it out.
As for the one-on-one, two people interviewed those chosen. I believe there were two teams (two on each) conducting them. We would go have one interview, then come back out to wait for the second person. After that, it was over! Then, of course, came the waiting part (which can take 3-4 weeks, I believe) to see who got picked for training; well, you have to pass the background check & drug test first. If it's good, you get a phone call; if not, you get a letter.
I hope that helped! Which city do you want to work in? Please keep us posted. :)
P.S. Blog Boy Brian, do you think you could go ahead & get me a career at SWA? 🙂

Great job, Southwest! It's nice to read about an airline that does good things like this. It's just one of the many reasons why I want (& am going) to work for this Company! :)

Well, Joe, that's good you won't be moving. 🙂 Yes, I did see the backlog for FAs! Wow. I plan to wait a year or two before trying again for RSA, CSA, & FA, even though I can really go again for them this year; I'm not giving up, though! 🙂

Hey, Joe! Yes, I bought mine at the store, put it in a small box with some tissue paper, & mailed it. I didn't think about how it might melt! 😞 Grrrrrrr! Well, Brian, if you got your candy corn & it melted, I'm sorry! I'll have to figure out something else!
Joe, please keep us updated! When I become an FA, I'll have to ask if you cleaned my aircraft! 🙂 Oh, where will you live? Do you have to move?

Don't forget to carry on important items, such as whatever medication you can bring on board, as well as keys! When I fly alone, I leave my keys with my parents, because they take me to the airport & pick me up when I arrive home. However, when I went to MCO last month, a friend of mine took me to the airport & my parents picked me up. I left my keys & apartment gate remote at home, & before I went, made an extra copy of my apartment key, which I carried in my purse. Then, when my parents picked me up, they had their remote & I used my own key, rather than using theirs!

Thanks for the update, Ding! boy. I'm thinking that since you've not heard yet about the results of your BG check & drug test, it must be good. If it's good, you get a call; if not, you get the letter. I looked to see when you posted about your BG check & drug test & saw it was July 20. You're surely going to get the position! 🙂

Now, if we were talking high school, my favorite would be Union Redskins! I attended Union for 12 years, graduating from there in 1995. I only went to one football game, though. As far as college, I graduated from East Central University; I didn't go to any football games.

Great post, Bill! 🙂 I have one check in bag & one carryon (well, two carryons coming home-one is a bag with some of my souvenirs); that's not including my purse. I put certain things in my carryon, such as a change of clothes, 3 oz. or less of liquids-perfume & lotion (in a quart size bag, of course), my camera, my book Nuts!, & other things. I always do that, just to be safe.

Great job, Captain Ray! All of the Pilots/Captains do a great job keeping us updated. Southwest employees are the best! 🙂 It will always be my favorite airline, & it will be great when I become a member of the fun LUVing Southwest family!
You know, this reminds me-last October, I was on my way to CMH (for a CSA group interview!); I changed at MDW & can't remember if it was there or CMH when a flight attendant accidentally announced we were at the gate! We'd taxied off the runway & stopped. I was looking out the window & thinking, "We're not at the gate yet." Then she corrected herself & announced it again when we did actually arrive! :)
SWA is
So
Wonderfully
Awesome!
(P.S. At my favorite Panera the other day, I had Southwest tomato & corn soup for lunch! I LUVed it because it was good & healthy, & because Southwest is in it!)
