After enjoying a delicious acai breakfast bowl from the Ulu Cafe, head down to the beach to paddle board and take in the scenery. You may even see other guests on canoes and on excursions out beyond the lagoon and into the Pacific Ocean. Once you leave the lagoon, you get the most spectacular views of the Resort, and the surrounding Oahu coastline. It was so beautiful—it is definitely a ten on our list of “must-do” activities.
Enjoy lunch at Off the Hook, one of the beachside restaurants at Aulani Resort, where you can enjoy casual cuisines, like grab-and-go breakfasts, appetizers, sandwiches, and salads, as well as tropical cocktails at the poolside lounge.
After lunch, take a break on Waikolohe Stream, which offers two tubing adventures: extreme rapids that twist through caverns or a lazy river that glides along a tropical landscape.
Be sure to take part in the snorkeling experience on Rainbow Reef. This saltwater lagoon is home to amazing marine life with hundreds of tropical fish that you can swim up close to. It is truly one of the most unique experiences at Aulani.
Don’t miss out on the KA WAA luau! This magical evening is filled with delicious food, beautiful music, and an amazing performance centered around Hawaiian lore and legends.

For the second year, Southwest Airlines is a proud Leadership Sponsor and Official Airline of the Sundance Film Festival. Through this partnership, we underscore our support of independent storytellers and the creative community, and celebrate the magic of storytelling.
The Sundance Film Festival is the largest independent film festival in the world. Each year, the festival highlights and provides a platform for creatives at all levels—established to up-and-coming—and introduces audiences to experience powerful stories that shed light on the human experience.
In collaboration with the Sundance Collective, Sundance Institute’s expanded Alumni Artist community, we teamed up with Reaa Puri, a filmmaker, and co-founder of Breaktide Productions, who created a video that speaks to the creative process behind a powerful story. Breaktide Productions is an all women-of-color-owned film production company, rooted in intersectional solidarity. Their mission is to support and generate grassroots movements, ignite collective action, and promote BIPOC self-determination.
We feature Sundance Film Festival content onboard WiFi-equipped flights through on-demand TV series channels on the Inflight Entertainment Portal. The Sundance Film Festival Shorts channel features short films from the 2020 Sundance Film Festival and will include a selection of shorts from the 2021 Film Festival in the coming months. The Journey to Sundance channel follows emerging filmmaker, Bridget Moloney, as she premieres her short film, “Blocks,” at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival.
Following the festival, Southwest will sponsor the Sundance Film Festival Shorts Film Tour, which will showcase select short films at venues across the country, public health permitting.
This year’s festival runs from January 28-February 3, 2021. While the festival traditionally takes place in-person in Park City, Utah, the 2021 festival has been reimagined to a new digital, content-rich virtual platform, with Satellite Screen events in select markets (public health permitting). Additionally, Festival attendees can gather in virtual waiting rooms, participate in live Q&As, and congregate in new, inspired online environments to interact in a range of ways both new and familiar. If you’d like to purchase passes and tickets to virtually attend the festival, visit the ticketing page on the Sundance Film Festival website.

Today is World Kindness Day, a day that celebrates kindness and its power to connect People. At Southwest Airlines, we aim to celebrate civility and kindness on a daily basis, through our daily interactions with each other and with our Customers. We were founded on The Golden Rule—to treat others how you would like to be treated—and it still rings true each day.
As a way to celebrate World Kindness Day and to share stories of kindness, we partnered with our friend Leon Logothetis—The Kindness Guy—to create a special video series called “My Kind of News.” These videos highlight six stories in which people have gone above and beyond to make others feel loved. You can tune in to these videos by visiting Leon’s Facebook and Twitter accounts (@thekindnessguy). These videos will roll out throughout the day, so be sure to catch them all and share using #mykindofnews!
Flight Attendant Zach and Customer Cassandra serenade a flight and share their musical talents onboard.
Southwest Employees in Memphis made young Customer Trey feel as loved as possible as he flew home after aggressive cancer treatment.
Djameel, the grandson of a homeless man who offered Leon food, clothes, and a place to sleep for the night in “The Kindness Diaries” season one, feels the kindness of strangers who donated funds to support his education.
From humble beginnings, Raven Paris is changing the lives of the youth in Baltimore through education and giving a voice to those who felt lost.
When a Customer was trying to fly home to see a sick relative and couldn’t afford the flight, a kindness superhero—Customer Service Agent, Leonis—stepped in to save the day.
Anna shares the story of her second-grade teacher, Mrs. Jones, who changed her life forever through an act of kindness.
As we celebrate World Kindness Day, we invite you to join the conversation with some of your own experiences. Have a story about the kindness you’ve experienced that you’d like to share? Follow @thekindnessguy on Facebook or Instagram to tell your story and be entered for a chance to win round trip air travel for you and a guest on Southwest.
