Are you ready to take a spooky dive into the latest Disneyland Halloween event? The Oogie Boogie Bash* at Disney’s California Adventure is new this year and we’re going to give you the behind the scenes scoop on the Disney Halloween decorations, deliciously ghastly food and treats, and everything you need to know about the Disneyland Halloween party dates!
What is the Oogie Boogie Bash at Disney’s California Adventure?
The Oogie Boogie Bash at Disney’s California Adventure is the newest Disneyland Halloween Party and Trick or Treating event, where guests get decked out in costumes and have the most ghastly, amazing time! There are magical Treat Trails with famous villains onstage to pose and perform while all trick-or-treat-ers get loaded up ALL the treats and candies (and even gluten free + healthier options), the cutest, spookiest, decked-out Car’s Land you ever did see, and so many fun characters (naughty and nice) to meet! There’s a jammin’ DescenDANCE dance party over by Monsters Inc. in Hollywood Land, Mickey’s CUTEST Trick and Treat dance party in Hollywood Land on the DISNEY JR Stage, and a mystical Villains Grove trail made of villain dreams and dares on the Redwood Challenge Trail!
Is Oogie Boogie Bash Replacing Mickey’s Halloween Party?
Mickey’s not-so-scary Disneyland Halloween Party had always been the special after hours ticketed event in Disneyland, but this year it has moved across to California Adventure to continue the party! Now during the fall season, ALL GUESTS in Disneyland get to see the Halloween Screams firework show, where before it was only for guests at the ticketed Halloween event! The Frightfully Fun Parade has also moved over to the Oogie Boogie Bash, and now there’s even a new World of Color show, “Villainous”, that plays twice each night during the Oogie Boogie Bash on Pixar Pier!
Is Disneyland Busy on Halloween?
Disneyland Halloween festivities are epic! Guests (including us) look forward to visiting Disneyland during this spookily festive time, but as always the Disneyland team and cast members do a phenomenal job of making the popular times at the park fun for everyone!
When Does Oogie Boogie Bash Start? The O ogie Boogie Bash goes from 6:00-11:00 pm every night from September 17 through October 31! With your ticket to the event (separate from a regular park ticket), you and your crew can get into California Adventure as early as 3:00 pm, and have EIGHT HOURS of spook-tacular fun! Immediately when you enter the park, walk STRAIGHT to Al Fresco Tasting Terrace, the restaurant directly across from the Cars Land entrance, to find an adorable cast member holding the Oogie Boogie sign, and follow the signs to check in and get your event bracelet! You need your bracelet to stay after 6:00 pm, and we recommend getting there as early as you can to avoid the crazy lines and to get started on your night as quickly as possible! And if you’re there before six, you might get lucky enough to see the CUTEST EVER Coco celebration show over by Paradise Garden on Pixar Pier!
Oogie Boogie Bash Food and Drinks
Not only are the Disneyland Halloween decorations and villains the BEST, the snacks and treats will also blow your mind! The best part is they aren’t just for the event guests to enjoy, but any park visitors in either park can get these tasty treats for all of Halloween Time at Disneyland! Be sure to pick up a free Food Guide at Guest Services or the park entrances, to pick your poison for the night! Our favorites were the Horchata Churro with Condensed Milk Cream (at the stand by Goofy’s Flight School), the Slow-Burnin’ Mac & Cheese Cone (from Cozy Cone #3 in Cars Land), the Oogie Boogie popcorn buckets (at all the popcorn stands), and the mint chocolate Minnie Witch Shake (from Schmoozies in Hollywood Land)! Because let’s be honest, we’re all there for the food, too.
Is Disneyland Decorated for Halloween? Or is it only at the Oogie Boogie Bash?
To say that Disneyland is “decorated” would be a tremendous understatement! Both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park are transformed into the most magically spooky place on Earth! The Disney Imagineers leave no stone (or churro) unturned when it comes to adding the Autumnal flare to both parks!
Right from the entrance to both parks and beyond, the amount of Halloween CUTENESS is insane. You get fall treats, the Haunted Mansion is taken over by Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas, Cars Land is DECKED out in spider spark plugs, costumed cars, and pumpkin-carved traffic cones, and Hollywood land and all of California Adventure’s main square is dressed to the nines with Headless Horseman haunts and the cutest Oogie Boogie Halloween explosion you ever did see. And when the lights go out and the sun goes down over Carthay Circle Restaurant, the cuteness and spookiness is out of this world.
Does Disneyland Close Early for the Halloween Party?
Disneyland does not...but Disney California Adventure Park does close to daytime guests when the Oogie Boogie Bash begins at 6:00 pm. Early entry (at 3:00 pm) to Disney California Adventure Park is included with your Oogie Boogie Bash ticket.
Is Oogie Boogie Bash Worth It?
We had the best time at the Disneyland Halloween Oogie Boogie Bash. Not only do you get to do EVERY FUN HALLOWEEN THING, from dressing up and getting treats, to dance parties and villainous shows, to meeting all the evil heroes and the cute ones too, but the entire park is at a 5 minute (or less) wait time for all the rides! So whether you want to dress up your babies and meet Mickey, sprint around with your friends and go on all the amazing rides together with little to NO waiting, or some of both, it is the BEST WAY to spend your Halloween time with your very favorite people!
How Long Does Disneyland Halloween Last?
Halloween Time began Septembr 6 and goes through October 31, and this is throughout the Disneyland Resort. Both theme parks, the hotels, and Downtown Disney District. If you want to see Disneyland decked out for Halloween don’t wait! The Disney magic also applies to how quickly the Disneyland team can re-decorate!
