We were disappointed to read that Southwest will not require employees to be vaccinated. Especially with regard to flight crew. We are both vaccinated and will be wearing masks, but we see no reason that employees who are also in confined spaces with us aren't required to be vaccinated. Other airlines, specifically United, is requiring it. Vaccination is the best way to get past this pandemic. More Americans need to be vaccinated. More vaccine needs to be shared worldwide. It is too late for us to change our plans for our upcoming trip next week. However, in the future, we will be looking for airlines that take those measures to protect their staff and their passengers.

Folks, we have been Southwest flyers for many years. We appreciated the route selections, the fares, and the basic fact that all of your staff have been nice to us and others on the flight. With a good sense of humor and grace. We do believe it is becoming more and more important that your company address the climate crisis, in particular, in offering the ability to purchase carbon offsets for flights at reservation. This issues is becoming more central to us and might soon trump all other reasons we have flown on your airline. I would hate to see the day when we limit our airline selection to only those that offer carbon offsets as part of their service, but that day may be coming soon.
