Hi,
Thinking of applying for the cards to earn the companion pass now. Is there any way to know in advance when my first closing date will be? Is it based on the day you're approved? Or when you activate? I'd like it to be as close to the first of the month as possible, so that I have all December to spend on it without fear that the spending will post before Jan 1.

Yeah, that's not an accurate comparison. For one, those tickets are likely more, but more importantly this isnt all "new" spending. People are using the CC for things they're already buying, in our case there was no new spending at all.

So the people who paid for early bird would feel cheated by hearing an announcement that military members are being offered boarding? How many times is there even more than 1-2 military on the flight? You could also allow early bird purchasers to board first. Hard to see how they came to this conclusion, but maybe I'm missing something.
