However, assuming automatic check-in at 36 hours, it would be impossible for someone with no preference (i.e. EB, biz, or A list, etc.) to receive a boarding before the EB. I am not expecting "better boarding position". I am expecting them to provide what they say they will which is earlier check-in than travelers with no preference. That is NOT the case, hence the reason it IS a SCAM.

This is a false statement. I am currently on a flight where we know of multiple people that have no preferences (ie no EB, no A list, no biz, etc) and received higher priority boarding than our B40-B45. One even received an A boarding while parents, who paid for EB and booked at same time in same room, received B47+.
DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT THEY ARE TELLING YOU. THAT IS NOT HOW EARLY BIRD WORKS ANYMORE.

It is no doubt a scam. I am typing as I sit on a flight. Me and 5 members of family got early bird. We know of at least several people on the flight that were ahead of us without any preferences (no EB, no biz class, no a-lost, etc) and were ahead of our b40-b45 boarding. One was in A and his family said they booked at the same time from same room. They did early bird, he did not. He got A they got b47+. It is a scam. I’m sure once the world figures it out definitely they will be looking for a settlement.
