If I redeem points for a flight, statement credit or some other reward, does it reduce the balance of points earned towards a companion pass? In other words, if I have 50,000 points earned towards a companion pass and I use 5,000 points to get a gift card of some sort, does my companion pass progress stay at 50,000 or does it get reduced to 45,000?
