I agree there should be a solution that works for both pet owners and people who are allergic --or even afraid. I know people who are scared just being in the vicinity of dogs. I don't understand why there can't be separate sections or better yet, designated "no animal" flights. I just looked into airlines that cater to dogs and the cheapest ticket I could find was $6K. That's not happening!! Perhaps Southwest could have special animal flights and charge more. Even $1K would be way more affordable than what I am seeing is available for pet owners.
