Let's talk about the Elephant in the room. We (the flying public) are getting radio silence from Southwest about all the recent, and not so recent near misses, and flight emergencies happening every month now, sometimes every week. A SW plane made a rapid decent during a flight off the coast of Hawaii almost plunging into the ocean before the flight could be controlled and pulled up to normal altitude. Next, a SW flight plunges dramatically towards homes in a residential neighborhood before the flight could be controlled by pilots and brought back to normal altitude. (see a trend here?) Next, a SW flight in May 2024 returned to Denver after smoke in cabin. April 2024 Engine cover falls off SW plane in flight causing a severe emergency landing. The list goes on and on. We want to know what SW is doing to stop these things from happening. There needs to be a huge overhaul of your safety systems that are in place and IMPROVE them. And I believe that means working with Boeing since many of these problems are from Boeing ineptitude, greed and bad management. Something needs to be done immediately. Stop focusing on diversity and DEI BS and worry about SAFETY.
