SWA offers military discounts for active duty military personnel only. These fares cannot be purchased at your local airport ticket counter or online. They can only be purchased via phone at 1-800-I-FLY-SWA for with DOD verification.

The situation that you described sounds like this passenger/Spirit employee was traveling on a confirmed ticket purchased by their employer. Other airlines often purchase SWA Business Select fare tickets to ‘deadhead’ their employees to their destination for work purposes.
