I would like to add for clarification purposes that to actually get to A-List status, you will also need some flight activity in conjunction with using the credit card. The credit card alone will not allow you A-List status because of the 15,000-point limit (it takes 35,000 Tier qualifying points for A-List). However, the Plus and Premier cards can be used to earn Companion Pass status (110,000 points) without any flight activity!

Southwest is one of the best airlines for people who have a disability or limited mobility! At most airports, wheelchair assistance is available at curbside. You can add wheelchair assistance request to your reservation online or ask an agent over the phone to add it to the reservation. When you get to the airport, just alert a skycap or Southwest Agent that your grandmother needs a wheelchair to get to the gate. They will assist her throughout the airport, even stopping at the restroom or a place to eat so long as there is enough time prior to boarding. I have used this service when traveling with my grandmother and it made life so much easier!

You will be able to preboard and clean the seats and tray tables (be sure to bring some wipes), Also consider bringing your own snacks since the pretzels that will be served as an alternate snack were packaged in a peanut packaging factory.

I heard boarding is really different in Punta Cana. What should I expect? Will it matter if I purchased Early Bird?

Jim, your setseatingfree website gave several of us a chuckle in Customer Relations--Thank You! As an Employee of 18 years at the Greatest Airline in the World, reading everyone's supporting comments (both for and against open seating) makes my heart swell with pride. And while I, too, am a fan of open seating and of our remaining a little different than everyone else, I trust in the Leadership of my Company to fairly evaluate open seating and our boarding process and make the right decision for you - our Customers - and for Southwest. Keep posting--I promise you, we're reading!
