The new boarding policy for families is ESPECIALLY unfair to anyone purchasing an infant fare for a child under 2. It takes a few minutes to safely install a carseat and safely install the child in the carseat, not to mention stow the diaper bag you definitely need for an infant. I can see where a lap child doesn't necessarily need preboarding if there is more than one adult along, but I think if parents are shelling out money for an optional seat for their kid they should get a few extra minutes. We actually decided not to bother purchasing an infant fare for our one year-old on our upcoming trip based on our experience struggling with the carseat while a flight attendant glared at us on a previous trip.
