My son has been with Southwest for the past 3 years and he loves the airline and the people! In August, 2009, David (LeVrier), employee #e83652 was in an almost fatal motorcycle accident and was in ICU for a week and then intermediate care for another week and then rehab before he was able to return home. He broke his back, broke his femur in 3 places and knocked out his front teeth, plus many other injuries. Southwest managers and employees alike supported David from the very beginning and showed the kind of people that make up the best airline operating. His base is Austin, TX and I learned through his terrible accident just how special Southwest Airlines really is! Gary Kelly even sent him a beautiful blanket with a Southwest Airlplane on it that he slept with for months and would hardly let me wash it, it was so dear to him.
I just wanted you to know David's story and maybe you could use him in a commercial in the future. He is a ramper and is back working hard, doing his job and loving it! His back surgeon refers to David as his "miracle patient" to be back doing the job he does after all he has been through!
Thank you,
Carolyn Gary (David's mother)
