My family has a tradition of watching National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, The Muppet Christmas Carol, and Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas every year. I also have to watch Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.

That's wonderful! You're lucky to have been a part of that meeting. A very historical meeting, indeed. A meeting from which the Southwest Culture Department will have a terrific story to tell :-)
I hope to be a part of the Southwest family soon. I'm a flight attendant who chose unwisely when it came to an airline for which to work. Southwest would be the perfect fit for me. For the better part of a year I've been waiting for Southwest to start taking resumés again for flight attendants. There are a couple hundred people in the flight attendant pool waiting for training dates. I'm hoping that since not all 22 of the older planes are being retired, that there might be a couple more training classes scheduled for later this year and that I'll be in one of them. I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I believe I'd be a wonderful addition to the Southwest family. I too would LUV to show a lifetime of devotion to Southwest Airlines.

Hello, It's James again. I was under the assumption that resumes were defunct after 6 months. At least, that's the way it is at most other airlines. If I submitted my FA resume (I only submitted one for some stupid reason) in May, is there a chance that I am still in the pool? Also, how long does an internal reference stay on file?
Thanx,
James

I submitted an online resume for the Flight Attendant position last May and waited eagerly the rest of the year for a response. A Southwest Flight Attendant had also submitted an internal reference for me in June, but I still heard nothing back. I'm currently a Flight Attendant for another airline, but I want to work for Southwest Airlines more than anything else in the world. I've read the entire website, read NUTS! twice, researched everything I could find on the internet about Southwest and even Netflixed the first season of Airline.
I tell other Flight Attendants that they should apply at Southwest and how I applied at Southwest, but haven't heard anything back yet. Some of them say things like, "There are other airlines hiring right now. I have a friend who just applied at Suchandsuch Airlines. You should apply there." I always have the same answer for them. I tell them I'll just wait to hear something from Southwest. There's no other airline I want to work for. Southwest is the best.
Once you're accepting resumes again for the Flight Attendant position I'll apply again, and again, and again.... I just have this feeling inside that Southwest is the best place for me. And I'm going to do whatever it takes to show that I'm the best person for Southwest. I'm already doing my part to spread the LUV.
