Well, it looks like I am the only one with any reason to celebrate today, as my OU Sooners came into town and beat UT. It was a great game, and I look forward to the next couple of years of them as wel, as OU has a great team and a lot of key players are only freshman.
And, Jeramy, I have to first disagree with your last post that USC has the toughest schedule. The SEC is by far the toughest conference in football, with any one of those teams able to beat just about any team in the country on any given Saturday.
But, it doesn't matter anymore, as USC lost to Stanford. Wait, that can't be right can it......Stanford!?.....

My last post didn't get up there...hmm...
Well, Jeramy, your #2 USC team just proved they are vulnerable against Washington as well last weekend. So, be careful my friend.
Kim - FYI, UT won the plane pull so congrats on that. UT is now 1-4 in plane pulls.
Line is OU by 11. Let's get it on!

Yes, most teams did think OU was the best team 3 years ago, similar to the way most people thought USC was the better team when they played (I can't believe I am going here, but for the sake of the Big 12) a little team called UT at home for the National Championship a couple years ago...what WAS the outcome of that game again.....

Ah, so you concede the floor yet get one more jab in. I love the tenacity! And, alas, sorry to let you know that the plane pull is before the football game. It does however present a great opportunity to work up an appetite...I prefer steak!
Kelli-
Although I do have an internal hate towards LSU (despite experiencing one of the best tailgating events at a college football game ever in Baton Rouge), not only for readily beating OU a couple years ago but for personal reasons, I have to admit I do believe LSU to currently be the #1 team in the country. USC, while a good team, isn't what they were a couple years ago and is only ranked #1 because of the hype.

Well, it seems either IE didn't cooperate or the mods didn't want to approve my post (as witty as it was), so I will have to do another one.
Yes, Benedict Arnold did meet the business end of a rope for being thought of as a traitor, but historically the list of people who met an untimely demise for biting off more than they could chew due to arrogance and pride is much, much longer. As they say, pride does cometh before a fall, so I would be cautious.
Many, many of my UT chums won't even care to make a wager on the game, so I guess I will have to pay for my own keg for the shootout this year.
Ah, and thank you for "letting" us win the plane pull for the last few years, it is always such a pleasure to do so right in front of UTs cheer squad and Bevo, just as it has been to win 5 of the last 7 shootouts - but only because you LET us.
Enjoy the game, I know I will!

I was patiently waiting for a T-sip to post ;-)
Oh, how I cannot wait until October 6th, when all the UT fans who for the past two years have been bragging that you guys beat us, and disregarding the previous 5 consecutive losses as "the past", will taste defeat. Then, don't try to bring up that you guys beat us the previous two years - after all it is the past.
And, I actually rooted for UT (because they are Big 12) to pull it out down there playing against a nationally ranked...no wait...a tough division I....no wait....umm, well just the University of Central Florida so that they could stay undefeated and ranked until that first weekend in October.
And, the thought that put a smile on my face the most was thinking of the Longhorns going into the locker room and breathing a sigh of relief, only to catch ESPN and realize that OU is looming ahead after utterly destroying another team. Oh, the smile was HUGE.
Just as I look forward to the OU group beating the UT group again in the plane pull this year, its time for the football game to follow suit!!

Hi Leah! I am actually a TX boy originally and went somewhere other than OU, but I never liked UT and sort of came to like OU by association (couple of close friends went there, and I travelled there a couple times and loved the atmosphere). I just like giving my teammates here at SWA who are UT grads a hard time and can't wait till Oct. 6th!

Whats up with the BCS this week? OU moving DOWN to #4 after embarassing their first three opponents by a total score of 174 - 23?? And UT (bleh) stays at #7 after BARELY squeaking by UCF, and not really soundly defeating any of their previous opponents? A travesty!!

I am a 29 year old single white male, and while I agree that this young woman is very attractive and see women dressed like this all the time, I still understand that others may not agree with the attire. But, as many of you are admonishing SWA for "judging" her clothing or trying to "police" customers or instituting a "dress code" - do you not have to give consideration to those who may find her clothing offensive? It would be hypocritical to accuse someone of being judgmental, while not being considerate of someone elses views.
Given the events of this morning on the Today show, is it not possible that at any time in the gate waiting area or on the plane a man, woman, or a child inadvertently was given a view up Ms. Eberts skirt? Now, today she may have been wearing underwear (thank God on national TV), but who's to say that she was that day of the flight (which so many responders have claimed - without knowing first hand)? I don't know about these folks, but I would not want my child to get that view, and I probably myself would have said something either to her or an employee had a I caught that view myself, if for no other reason to protect her dignity from those who would get some perverse pleasure from that view - but not to embarass her.
And, lets remember that SWA employees have an obligation to try and consider ALL of their customers wishes - conservative, liberal or whatever they are. Just take a look at all of the responses on this blog and it is obvious that some feel the skirt is OK - and some do not. Now, as the SWA employee, you are in the position of trying to please everyone - but not everyone agrees on something. This is an impossible situation!!
So, the only course of action is try and accomodate everyone the best you can. So, they asked her to change clothes. She had nothing to change into and had an appointment at her destination that she could not reschedule. So, they let her back on the plane, and asked her to cover up as best she could and gave her a blanket to assist her in doing so.
It sounds to me that they tried to do the win-win. Allow Ms. Ebert to continue on her flight (win for her!), and accomodate anyone who may have felt her attire was inappopriate by asking her to cover up as much as she could (win for other customers!).
I don't really see what the big deal is? Seems to me that Ms. Ebert is exploiting this for some other reason. Especially considering this happened two months ago and is now suddenly being brought to the media forefront. I believe that until all of the circumstances of the incident are known, we should give the benefit of the doubt to the SWA employee who made the decision to ask her to cover up.
