How about adding DING to the iPhone/Android/BB apps?

Southwest should add flights to FLL since Spirit is on strike

What about all of the skinny minnies who have overloaded, multiple suitcases and fill every available compartment with their junk? I use a carryon backpack and hop off the planes immediately (and by the way, "large people" also comprise the tall and muscular). You can't tell me the "plane balance" is affected more by my bit of chunkiness than people who pack multiple giant suitcases for Around the World in 80 Days.

Any chance you could expand at PBI? There are so many cities that Southwest serves that we can't get to from here. Maybe if you added St. Louis or Houston, it would help a lot.

Doesn't Southwest have policies against women that are about to give birth before they board the plane? A lot of airlines do say women more than 7-1/2 months pregnant can not fly. This person is really lucky a doctor was on the plane because it could have been horrible for both mom and baby if a doctor wasn't onboard. The mother isn't too bright being 8 months and 1 week pregnant and flying.
The pilot and Southwest's control center did the proper thing by rerouting to Denver so she could get proper medical attention.

I haven't looked at a paper schedule in about 10 years so it is no surprise this is being elimated since you can get the schedule in many other ways. Phone, Internet, PDA, etc. I feel that paper schedules are a waste of money and paper. The money Southwest saves will hopefully go towards making Southwest profitable again which will give us all lower fares.

Any chance on expanding Minneapolis service to St. Louis or Kansas City? You can do it with one plane running 3 round trips per day. Those would be good alternative airports in the winter months for those that want to avoid switching planes in cities that get a lot of snow.

I think Business Select customers should get free internet access reguardless of length of the flight. You people know the price of internet access. If you don't like the price, dont buy it. How hard is that? If people use it, don't expect Southwest to lower the price. If no one uses it, then the price will probably come down. Supply and demand!

I haven't seen a DING fare from Minneapolis in over 2 months. Did you guys forget about us?

I liked it better when Southwest had a no pet policy. I have been on other airlines that have some dog barking through half the flight and it really sucks! Not to mention, I'm allergic to all cats and some dogs. There is nothing anyone can do about a barking dog except hope the plane lands soon so you can get off the plane. I think this is about generating renue for the airline and not about the customers. If it is revenue you want, why don't you just have a nominal charge of $25 for the 2nd checked luggage and continue to leave the first bag free?

I agree with the previous poster. I'm looking at flying from MSP > BWI on Oct 9 and returning on Oct 12 for a wedding. Southwest is $340 and Airtran is $145. Northwest is $299 non-stop so why would I pay extra to switch planes? What happened to the Southwest low prices we all used to love?

Has Southwest looked at putting small stores at airports selling shirts and stuff? It would probably do well at connection airports like Chicago, Nashville, Houston, Orlando, Tampa, Baltimore, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Denver.

I would love for Southwest to expand service from the Twin Cities to Florida or offer an additional connection city such as St. Louis since Chicago gets a lot of snow in the winter. Maybe 2 or 3 flights per day? Florida is a very popular destination from the midwest.

Bill,
Is there a reason why MSP > PBI was removed from the network? There are several options at 2 connections that would work but do not show up on the schedule. I prefer PBI over FLL because it is much easier to get in and out of and security lines are never more than 5 minutes. Last time I was at FLL, it took 25 minutes to get through security.
I picked June 1 as a random date from MSP > PBI
Flight 35/1280/272
Coming back (I picked same day June 1) Flight 3939/3856/2438 or 203/1047/3504 would work
Or better yet, expand service from PBI as well 🙂

I don't see how you can be profitable selling food on flights less than 90 minutes since most people can easily eat before or after the flight at the airport. Plus the flight attendents really don't have time to prep it, server it, and clean up. On flights longer than 90 minutes, I can see this being successful. Most airlines have food I wouldn't give to my dog, it tastes so bad. Now if Southwest could partner with a national food chain and sell their food onboard, I can see this being a hit!

I'm so glad Southwest has made it to MSP. I have DING and the only DING fare I have seen is to Midway. Any chance on on adding more cities to DING from MSP?
Thanks

Hey Bill,
I live in Minneapolis and Southwest has been more expensive on 9 out of 10 flights I have been looking at. If you want to be succesful here, your prices need to be more competitive.

My guess is they will be flying to BWI and MDW from BOS to test the market. Southwest has almost always started a city by doing a couple short-haul flights to hubs. (They only go to MDW from MSP.) If there is enough depand, they will expand.

Adding MSP to Denver or Salt Lake City would be nice. Even if it is only one or two flights a day. Flying to MDW to go to and from the west coast doesn't make sense.

How about expanding into Minneapolis? We really need a good discount airline here.

When is Southwest going to offer flights to the west coast from Palm Beach that doesn't involve 2 stops each way? I would love to see a flight to Las Vegas or Phoenix from Palm Beach to get to west coast cities. My choice is to drive 2 hours to Fort Lauderdale or fly another airline from PBI.

I'm glad my home airport is BWI. Luckily Southwest only flys to five cities that start with the letter B and none have airport codes close to that. It is nice to live close a major hub so I'm sure every handler knows what airport that is plus I know another Southwest flight isn't far behind should my luggage get lost or misdirected. It hasn't gotten lost with SWA but it did get lost both ways on my trip when I flew American last year. (Only reason I was on American is because SWA doesn't fly to Minneapolis or to many other other cities in the midwest.) I won't fly AA again!
Southwest does a great job with bag handling!!!

I agree with Steve and Joe about going to Minneapolis. I fly from South Florida (Usually West Palm Beach but sometimes Fort Lauderdale depending on price and DING specials.) about twice a month and Minneapolis is one of the few cities I fly to that SWA doesn't go to. I swear MSP is the highest price per mile traveled going in and out of there. MSP needs SWA bad. It was nice when SWA partnered with ATA but ATA pulled out so now I have to use other airlines that aren't as friendly and I'm very limited on choices on good airlines that go there from here. Like Steve said, I would think SWA could start just by going to hub cities like they do at Dulles and only use one or two gates at the new Humprey terminal, people at MSP would use them even if it wasn't a non-stop flight. I have gone through Humprey terminal many times and my longest wait at security has been about 10 minutes. I wish all airports were that easy 🙂
