Some people commenting have NOT heard every part of the story. Kevin Smith fit in his seat perfectly fine; arms rests DOWN, able to buckle his seat belt, and not "bulging over" into the other seats. Therefore he was not in anyone else's space, AND the two women on either side of him also said they were fine. So, lets see: He fit in the seat, and even if the Employee didn't think he did quite well enough... the other passengers were content to sit by him.
And for the other people who defend them because "larger people make it more difficult"... are you suggesting that larger people should now be not allowed to fly at all? Are we going to start segregating between the "fat" and "thin"? Really, it's disgusting.
