When I was on my way to MCO last Friday, a lady on my flight from STL (where I changed planes) to MCO was talking on her cell phone when we were fairly close to landing! I don't understand why she didn't wait until we landed. I wish the flight attendants had seen it.
P.S. My birthday is this Thursday, & on my cake, it will say "Happy Birthday! SWA LUV." I wanted an SWA plane on it, but I would had to have given them picture & I was afraid I wouldn't get it back. My dad told the lady that I want to work for SWA. 🙂

The sad face in my post above is there because I was sad about coming home, not because I went through STL. After I put that, I thought it looked like I was sad I was going through STL, but that's not true!
Future CSA & RSA! 🙂 I have Southwest spirit yes I do, I have Southwest spirit how about you? Yea!

Mary, I went through STL going to & from MCO July 20, & I came home the 22. 😞 I asked an Ops Agent if he knows you, & he does. I didn't get his name. I heard you were on vacation, but if you hadn't been & I got to meet you, I'd have asked for a picture with you & your autograph! I'll wait until next time.

Yea, Joe! That's great! Please keep us updated! I'm now back home from MCO, unfortunately. I never want to come home from trips! Anyway, I told several of the FAs that that's what I want to become. One of them on my flight from TUL to STL took my name & address (I gave him my email, too), & he'll pass it along! After I got off & while I was waiting to get a picture of me with the crew, he asked an employee-it might have been an Ops agent, I forgot-if they had any openings in STL. I thought it was very nice of him to do that! So, if Scott from SWA Flight 537 from TUL-STL on July 20 reads this, thanks again! 🙂
For those of you who watched Airline (I watched & recorded several episodes), I saw one of the Captains who was on the show once when I arrived at MCO! I can't remember his last name now, but he was on the episode where a mother from PDX brought her son to PHX to have surgery to stop his seizures; the Captain & his wife (he's based in PHX), has a son who had the same problem. Anyway, I heard his name & recognized it, so I asked if he'd been on the show. When he said yes, I told him which episode I saw him on. Another pilot seemed impressed I remembered! :)
More later!

Thanks for another great post, Captain Ray! You wouldn't happen to be the one who will be my Captain tomorrow on Flight 537 (TUL-STL) or 850 (STL-MCO), would you? :)
When I was waiting to go back to Love (LUV) Field after my second FA interview last August, I talked with two people who finished Pilot interviews that day. I think I'd better stick with trying to become an RSA, a CSA, & an FA. Being a Pilot/Captain would really be cool, but I better not try!
I have pictures of me in the Cockpit, & in one of them, I was sitting in the left seat.
Well, I must go to bed now! I have to get up very early for my flight to MCO tomorrow, but that's okay! :)

Oh, I know Lisa! I really feel I have the qualities it takes to work for SWA, & I can't figure out why I wasn't picked for training. I know I'm overqualified, so that could be it, or at least part of the reason. I, too, am happy to hear good news about others. Who knows, maybe we'll work together someday as FAs!
I'll be out of state, too; I'm going to MCO (Orlando) this Friday for a United Methodist Congress of the Deaf (UMCD) Conference. I'm flying SWA, of course! By the way, I LUV music, too! 🙂 I always have.
Thanks for your email address! I'll send you a message so you'll have mine.
We can swap trip stories.
LUV & hugs!
Leah

That's neat, James! Thanks for sharing. So far, the only SWA planes I've flown are the standard & Spirit. I'd LUV to fly other theme painted ones, too; maybe when I go to MCO this Friday &/or when I come back, I can fly the Shamu!

Hello, Lisa! Don't give up! No, unfortunately, I didn't get picked for FA training; I didn't get picked for CSA or RSA training, either. 😞 I tried to find out what I could do to improve my chances of being invited for it, but never got responses. 😞 I won't lie & say I wasn't sad; I shed some tears, too, I admit. However, I'm not giving up! It'll be awhile before I try again, but I'm going to! I've wanted this for a very long time, & I'm a very determined person!
Please keep us updated, Lisa!

Oh, Kim! I know! *Raises hand & says, "Pick me!* The answer is, "What is Southwest Airlines?" Okay, what's my prize? :)
I remember when my parents & I went to Israel, we flew TWA; when we came home (well, even when we went there, my mom & I were going home. We weren't born there, but we are ethicnally Jewish), we flew a 747 nonstop from Tel Aviv to JFK. We were on one another 747 from JFK to STL, where we changed planes again.

Thanks for the great post! I think it's interesting to read about what you do when checking the planes! Do you do the same when you drive? Ha, ha! 🙂 One reason why I want to work for SWA is that the Company has an excellent safety record; another reason is I LUV to have fun. :)

Thanks, James. I want to make sure I understand-I put everything in the overhead bin, or put my bag there & put my camera case & purse underneath my seat, right? I don't often sit in the first row, but sometimes I like to for a change. 🙂

Great post again, James! I can't understand why people walk up to the boarding area long before the plane arrives & they sit or stand & wait. The plane won't get there any faster, & some people may pre-board.
Once, when I sat in the first row (right side), I put my carry on in the bin & my purse & camera case underneath my seat (that's the only time my carry on goes in the overhead bin); a flight attendant saw & kindly told me to put my things in my lap. I've put those same things in my lap other times, too, because I thought I was supposed to after that time. They didn't say anything. James, what should I do? I know if we stop suddenly, my purse & camera case can slide forward. If I have them in my lap, though, I'm not sure how safe I feel. I'm just wondering. :)

Yes, Southwest is the only airline I really LUV! The Company gives me the freedom to be my funny, outgoing self!
I cannot wait to board my flight to MCO next Friday, the 20th! I'm counting down the days! Mary, I'll be watching to see if I can see you working at any gates when I change in STL. Maybe you can request to be at mine. I arrive at 8:35 am & leave at 11:20. 🙂 Of course, I don't know yet which gate I leave from.

Ha, ha Joe! 🙂 You're right on the AAirline name. The chances that I will ever apply to work at that other AAirline in DAL are as high as it snowing on my birthday, which is in July!
P.S. I have a joke. What sorority would (future) Southwest employees never join? Delta Delta Delta! Ha, ha. 🙂

I certainly won't be afraid to be my very outgoing self whenever I go to work for SWA! That's one reason why I LUV the Company-employees can be funny on the job. I wouldn't have nearly as much fun if I worked for another AAirline (& not just that AAirline, but others, too). I'm sure you know which one I'm talking about!
Thanks, Gordon! Keep up the great work!

I'm friends with one of the CSSs & CSAs at my airport, & I had them autograph my book "Nuts!" for me last year! Even though they were never on the show (Airline didn't film at my airport), I still wanted their autographs!
Mary, I'll be going through STL on my way to & from MCO in two weeks! I'll be changing planes there, so maybe I'll see you. Maybe you'll be the Ops Agent at my gate! 🙂
Where I work, I'm not afraid to be goofy! I'm not afraid to make a fool of myself in front of the residents. That's just how I am! I'm very outgoing. 🙂 Of course, I'm outgoing even when I'm not working! One reason why I still want to work for SWA is that I LUV how the employees can be funny on the job by telling jokes, etc.

Oh, yes, I also saw Angelica at MDW last year when I was coming back after my second CSA interview. I saw her as soon as I stepped off the plane & said, "I see you on Airline!" She said, "No, I'm not!" & I told her "Yes you are!" 🙂
