Like the Tucson-BWI route. Wish it'd stick around all year!

How depressing. I would have thought to celebrate Southwest's 40th anniversary, these disgusting peanuts would be retired for good.....

Just give us a monthly or yearly pass that's reasonably priced and once you ramp up installations, I'm in.
It'd sure be nice if you could ramp up installs faster. Many of my Alaska Airlines flights have Wifi now...

@Caleb:
All of them?!? I'm scared to fly though Denver now. haha! Someone from DEN has to send a photo down to the Tucson station.
@Mysmartha:
I can vouch that at least one guy is a real employee. I see him every few days when I show up in Tucson. I see Rafa (the smiling bald dude) more than I see my friends. I think one of the guys in the Bags commercial is from San Diego.

A LARGE photo of Rafa*?!?!?!?!
I can't wait to give him a hard time about this. This is TOO good. In all seriousness, this is pretty cool. What gate is it at?
*Rafa is one of the best folks working at the Tucson station. A class act and he's pretty darn funny.

Charlotte. Charlotte. Charlotte. Charlotte. Charlotte. Charlotte. Charlotte. Charlotte. Charlotte. GSP is not Charlotte.
Oh and while you're at it, give us our TUS-OAK flight back! I'm sick of connecting in that circle of death known as SAN.

Hey, how bout some TUS love and let us have our "other" nonstop to MDW back?! Don't tell me I'm going to have to start flying that other AAirline and slog through ORD!

The first photo is taken from the old (then the only) control tower.
But you left out one important piece of history...the expansion of the north side of the airport--Southwest's home!. When LAWA started the north side expansion in the 60s and 70s, they bought the entire Surfridge neighborhood on that hill that separates LAX from the beach. It's all fenced off now, but the streets are still there. You can see them when you depart to the west (or land to the east). http://peteofthestreet.net/gallery/MysteryNeighborhood
Anyway, on the subject of the north side of the airport...you forgot to mention that T1 was opened in 1984...and hasn't been renovated since Reagan's first term in office. And don't leave out the original T1 tenant....PSA. The "original" Southwest...in California at least.

Angela (or Brian),
When the installations begin in April, will the systems be active?
As an aside, I'm all for a yearly price point once >50% of the fleet is up and running. If it was reasonably priced, I'd buy a yearly pass without hesitation.

Brian,
That comment is RIPE for jokes. I mean, that's like right there, waiting to be commented on.
Lindsey,
You don't go to Potbelly's and order "guilt free" sandwiches. Order the Wreck, with extra mustard and whatever else they have. Just make it drip down your arms. I did this a few months back when I flew through MDW. I got the Wreck and a carmel/cheese popcorn mix at Nuts on Clark and proceeded to eat them both on the plane. I got a lot of dirty stares from the FAs until I offered them some of the popcorn. Just bring lots of napkins. Like a huge stack or two. Great, now I'm starving.

Boeing does most of their air-to-air flights in Washington. Either around the Cascades or up in the Olympics or over in eastern WA. I'm not sure that was the case back in the 70s, but it's the case now.
I miss PSA. That was one awesome airline: hot pants on really good lookin' FAs, free drinks on the intra-CA routes etc. I saw a bev cart with the PSA placard on an Alaska flight about 5 years ago. Had to do a double take! I still have a PSA luggage tag on my carry on (along with my "Grab your bag, it's on" tag).

@ swaluver: I understand that, but slot restrictions and distance limits are irrelevant in this case. There are no "published" connections to LGA from TUS in the new schedule. The only way to get to LGA from TUS is to have a 40 minute connection in MDW, an "illegal" connection in WN's eyes. And, as we all know, not nearly enough time to enjoy the Wreck at Potbelly's.

Seattle-Baltimore nonstop? Going after AirTran I see...
For once, I was happy to see no cuts to TUS, although the lack of a TUS-LGA published flight is a big letdown....again. Same with the outbound schedule to PDX. For us who go up there for work, it would be real nice to get in before noon.

I second the request for Charlotte. I fly there quarterly to visit our company's second manufacturing facility in Chester Co. S.C., and I'm sick and tired of either driving 3 hours to Raleigh or the Delta shuffle through ATL.

The email is legit. If you haven't logged in to your mysouthwest account and updated your profile, there will be a banner on there that prompts you to update the secure flight data. I did this yesterday morning.
Now, someone from WN, will you PLEASE answer my question about what your boarding passes will contain now. I'm about to go make a refundable reservation and find out myself. I just want to save myself the trouble.

Ok, I get it you have to do what the TSA says. It's dumb (we all know that). However, why do you put the passenger's middle name in the confirmation email/subject line etc? Does this mean it'll print on my boarding pass, too?
I ask because Alaska has had this (in)secure flight nonsense going on for a few months now and my boarding pass doesn't look any different today than it did back in January.
So, are the secure flight boarding passes any different now than before?

Thank you for giving us our second daily TUS-MDW flight back, and thank you for making it an early morning departure. In fact, thank you for giving TUS a better schedule in the winter with a couple early morning departures. The schedule now really sucks! It makes my weekly trips to the Bay Area and PDX miserable when I can't arrive until after 11 am or 1p respectively.

@ John Runyan: Most likely the delays came from FCC certification issues. Row 44 kept having to fend off ViaSat's challenges to the system. IIRC ViaSat kept saying Row 44's system would interfere on their systems. Once the FCC gave Row 44 the green light, it wasn't very long until WN announced a fleet wide roll out--maybe two weeks.
I second the need for a yearly pass. As someone who routinely is on one to two WN round trips a week, I would really appreciate a yearly pass. It would be nice if you could add an iphone and laptop to the same pass. Or at least update that pass between devices.

Thanks guys. Guess I'll be flying Delta this winter.

You're nuts, Brian, for liking Portland. The weather. Oh dear god, the weather is awful for nine months a year. From July 5 to September 15, the weather is great. There's a law on the books in Oregon that says it will rain or be cloudy on the 4th of July and during the Rose Festival. The law also states that when kids go back to school, after Labor Day, the weather will be in the 80s.
I work up there, and commute from Tucson, so I spend a fair bit of time at PDX. It's a great airport...much, much nicer now that all the terminal renovations have been completed. I remember the awful hike to the Alaska/Southwest gates when the C terminal was being redone. You had to walk through a few shipping containers and trailers to get to the gate area. In fact, I have been flying to Portland since I was born to see family up there. I remember flying up there on AirCal (RIP), PSA (RIP), Alaska (RIP to the old Alaska that served hot meals on its SJC-PDX flights), Reno Air (RIP) and finally you guys. It's kind of interesting to look back on it and see how much it's changed. The only thing that's stayed the same at the airport is the carpeting and the four B gates. Seriously.
I used to fly DL out of Portland quite a bit. I remember before they brought the MD-11s online, they'd run the L10s to Japan and down to Atlanta. It's nothing but a shell of its former self over there now. Although about six months ago, I noticed they finally replaced the logos: they had the 1993 logos on the ticket counter wall, and gate podiums.

Love it (should I say LUV it?) It looks fantastic on my iphone and will save me from calling reservations to change flights while on my way to the airport!
Please add a webclip icon for the iphone. It shouldn't be very difficult, just add it in the header of the page.
As for an iphone app, I'd love to see a way to store your RR info and automatically log in to your account, and see your upcoming itineraries, automatically have your info filled out from MySouthwest when booking/changing tickets etc. I kept hoping you guys would either come out with the iphone app or update the mobile site, so I'm thrilled with this.
Ideally, I'd love it if the web looked like the Continental mobile site: http://pda.continental.com It would be great if it gave you all the info about a particular flight (a/c #, gate, delay time that's current etc). The Continental site is a fantastic example of a great mobile site. The SWA one is a huge (!!!!) improvement though! Thank you!!

Brian,
If you make your page "public," you'll get a my.flightmemory.com/XYZ url. On that page, you'll get your top 10 routes, aircraft, airlines etc. It'll show your longest flight, shortest flight, the map etc. It won't show all the specifics like what day/times/routes you flew, aircraft etc. No real sensitive data that I can find unless you are moonlighting for some top secret government agency flying UFOs to Roswell or Area 51. If that's the case, then the routes might be "sensitive."

C'mon Brian, post a link to your flightmemory page for us.
(My page is really empty: I kept good track from 1998 to 2004, then again from 2006 to now. I'm missing a huge chunk from before 1998 when I'd fly monthy SJC-PDX, and from 2004-2006 when I started hitting the air for work).
