Sounds like a great way to complicate boarding, and lose SW's competitive advantage of short turnarounds.
It's not opening night at the opera, folks. It's a bus.

HI Carole, thank you for your article! I was wondering if you could help! I had an interview scheduled for today and I never received the call...does this mean that SWA has changed their mind? I called the recruiter and left a message and emailed but no response. Can you help? I would appreciate it so much!

My husband I fly with SWA as much as possible, and grit and grind our teeth if we HAVE to use another airlines since SWA may not be flying to a certain destination. Prices are now very close to other airlines, however we can each take 2 checked bags FREE! This is a BIG plus. Hope you never change you customer relations policies, and how we are treated when we are on the aircraft. Thank you

Blizzard warnings were issued as a service to parts of Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin as snow socked the states in tandem with hot air gusts topping 45 miles (72 kilometers) per hour.
The blizzard -- 10 days sooner than the birth of winter -- took its greatest sounding in Minnesota, where as much as two feet (61 centimeters) of snow had fallen in some locations, according to the National Weather Advantage (NWS).
The country's largest city Minneapolis was junior to a blanket of bloodless 17 inches (43 cm) broad, the worst snowfall to charge the big apple in more than 19 years and the fifth-biggest on record.
As an incriminate in of the simoom's oppressiveness, Minneapolis-St. Paul Universal Airport -- a traversing hub with adroitness in contending with foul seedy -- was shut down for the purpose the oldest notwithstanding in years.

I would like an update on this report. I booked a flight with my family, which includes a 18 mo old. I'm never a fan of flying but now that I have a child I need to make sure safety is a priority.
If possible please contact me with an update before July 8, 2010

And they let lady gaga on wearing bra, underwear and handcuffs. I'd sue the airlines until I had free flights for life.

Sometimes its easier to complain then to compliment. In this case, I do both.
Please note my post of Aug 21 where I point out that the gift sent to Rapid Rewards customers wasn't up to the standards I have come to expect from SWA. Quite honestly, I didn't think this blog was the most appropriate venue to communicate my concerns but, heck, when you can't email customer service (you still haven't solved this!), you look for another way to get you point across, though I didn't think you would respond.
And was I surprised. I never expected that (1) my blog comment would be posted; or, (2) that you would respond to my comment in the blog itself (Hollee on Aug 22nd); or (3) you would forward my comment to another member of your customer service organization to take action.
To quote from of the wisest philosophers of our time, Homer Simpson .... "Doh!".
You did all three.
Credit given where credit is due ..... kudo's to Southwest (Hollee Ford and Micah Hankammer in particular). Today I received a replacement TSA approved bag (by FedEx no less) with a personal letter, signed with a real ink pen! And the bag didn't fall apart in my hands!
Can't imagine any other airline (and I have dealt with them all) coming close to this response.
As I said in my original post ... you are my favorite airline. And even though you STILL don't have allow customers to email customer service directly, you managed to to make me happy.
Your still not perfect. But you are heads and shoulders above the competition. You have a custoimer for life. All it takes is a little LUV.
Now, about expanding the number of short-haul routes out of SFO ..... 🙂

Hell-o
I waited til almost the last minute to look for information regarding flying.
My son and his wife are treating me to a flight on Southwest Airlines to Bakersfield California. The last time I flew was in 1995. I do not like to fly. Every time I get in the air I feel like I want to run up and down the isle holding my head and scream GET ME OFF! I'm trying real hard to be brave. I will be departing Buffalo NY on flight 561 at 7:20 AM on Monday Mar 10. Please, if you can put in a word to the powers that be, I would appreciate a little encouragement. My confirmation # is K25Y9E. Thanks.

Hi. You couldn't even prove the White House staff sane beyond a reasonable doubt. Help me! Need information about: Who owns gamefly. I found only this - gamefly customer support phone number. That is the frustration why it is many outrageous that you work for few shows on the title, gamefly. Gamefly, gamefly was required a spoilering games not, also after the value that netflix, the same next optional blockbuster, did lush. With love , Charla from Romania.

As a recent passenger on Southwest I was very impressed to see the Captain in the back cleaning the cabin with a smile on his face. I saw another first on that flight - a Captain standing in front of all the passengers explaining a delay over the flight attendant's PA microphone. Then he asked....."Any questions?" What a brave soul to see if any of the 150 some passengers had any questions about the delay. Obviously people like this Captain care about their customers. Southwest isn't fancy but they get the job done better than most airlines.
People like Jerome that are "having fun" while working are why I feel good about giving Southwest my business. The pilots also know how to fly. They are not afraid to fly the aircraft, help out ATC by speeding up/slowing down or making a visual approach. They are PILOTS not autopilot operators. Brian Miller

Thanks for giving us the scoop on the new services from DAL. As great as it is, we need to keep looking at Macon/ Atlanta, Columbia/Charlotte, Minneapolis/Rochester, and go after the juglar of the others. Those airports draw from many mid market cities that many of us have to use other airlines for. Get in there and get the revenue. Many in SW Georgia have nothing but the 3 hr drive to JAX or ATL - and the military bases down that way would be an awesome draw - and of course, those of us tired of flying into crowded Atlanta - with all the delays !!!!!
GET IN THERE !!!

I love southwest.. I am a college student who has attended three different universities, and taken countless cross country flights. At first I had a typical love/hate realtionship with southwest.. cheap tickets-love it.. small airplane-hate it. UNTIL I flew Northwest and AirTran and US Airways only to realize.. I loved southwest. COmpletely and utterly loved southwest. They have the largest seats, and some of the newest airplanes because while everyone else is going bankrupt.. they are actually running a terrific business. I LOVE YOU SOUTHWEST!!!

WOW!!! Thank you all for this blog. I'm going to be 44 this year & have been in the "Corporate" world & a small business owner for over 22 years & decided this year to persue my life long dream as a F/A & of course Southwest is my #1 pick, I just received a call & email for my interview which is on 7/31/08 here in southern CA, I am elated. It seems that it is a long process so I will not get to exited about the next step I'm just so exited to have the chance to interview for such an awesome airline & seeing all your comments has me sitting on the edge of my seat. Thank you for your encouragement & I really hope to be working with you at SWA soon.
Good luck to all in my shoes, and any additional advise from you seasoned F/A's would be LUVly,
Wendy

I love you guys! I travel quite frequently for work and try to use Southwest as much as possible. I love the "Cattle Call" boarding I think its great! Its so much fun to watch all the crazy people line up like kids in grade school and try to figure out what place they are supposed to be in line. The flight attendants are great, so much fun! It seems like you guys are really doing something right, its so amazing to see how much your airline has grown over the past few years. I find the seats to be more roomy and more comfortable than any other airline. I look forward to flying Southwest ALWAYS! My home airport is Lost Wages, Nevada and I love that you have the entire "C" Terminal. C is for "Cattle Class" and I mean that in the nicest possible way. Please don't change a thing! You stand out from all the rest!
