You were absolutely correct about adding the RR number. I had to change a reservation, added the RR number, and everything showed up.
It's my recollection that previously if you were booking with points and filled in the box with your RR number, the system made you remove it before you could move on. In any event, thank you for solving the problem for me. Now, why didn't any of the Southwest people give me the answer years ago?

That's a very good suggestion. I know in the past I had entered the RR number and it had to be removed because I was booking using points. So, I never enter it anymore, but about half my flights show up and half don't, roughly. I will certainly enter it the next time I book a flight. Thank you for your information. I appreciate your advice.

It's by no means a "free trip." I could just as well be receiving cash back on purchases instead of flight miles because my use of the credit card is valuable to whoever issues the card. Southwest does not give these flights away out of the goodness of their heart, they reward us for generating interest income for them.
It's not about the work I have to do. It's about the recurring problems with the website that Southwest fails to address. These problems have been plaguing me, and others, for years. Southwest promises to look into it, and that they're working on the problems. Nothing ever changes. This is bad business.

I started this thread over five years ago, and since then nothing has changed to improve the customer experience on southwest.com. Trips still do not properly display under "Trips." Trying to find the link to book a companion pass is maddeningly difficult, especially when your trip doesn't show up as it should under "Trips!" The money-generating "Upgrade" button is prominent everywhere, but try to find a "Book Companion" button. Good luck.
Obviously, a website that is mediocre at best is acceptable to the management of Southwest Airlines, or they would be attentive to the site's shortcomings. Adding a "Book Companion" button to a few more screens should be a simple task for a programmer, but no one is giving them the order to add them.
If you ever want to find the morgue in a hospital, go outside and find the dumpsters. Then, go in the first door that will take you into the hospital and the morgue will be nearby. Why? Because hospitals make no money from the morgue, so the morgue always gets cheap real estate in a hospital. Southwest makes little compensation from companion flights, and it is my contention that they make it difficult to book because of that. Which sort of goes against the whole Southwest attitude.

My wife and I just returned from Punta Cana, and two things about the flights really bothered me.
I ordered a drink on the flight there. My credit card was charged and the tiny cup of alcohol and tonic was delivered to me. I'm old enough to know when I get what I paid for, and there was not a full mini-bottle of vodka in the drink. If I'm paying top dollar for their beverage service, I want the full bottle for which I paid, not some flight attendant dividing my bottle with another passenger which is what I suspect happened. I had a tiny cup of mostly tonic water. I made no fuss on the flight thinking the issue was better addressed here.
Second, what happened to fun flight attendants? The ones who used to make funny comments, and joke around now and then on the intercom with the passengers. On both legs of my trip, the flight attendants spoke as quickly as is humanly possible with no hint that they actually had a personality. I don't care about the instructions for the seat belts, but when they are making announcements pertinent to the flight and landing, they need to slow the hell down and speak clearly. I understood nothing of what was said on either flight. They interjected not one bit of humor, which tells me they are just "doing their job," and not acting like the representatives of the company as they used to be.
I miss the old days of Southwest.

I've been a Southwest customer for many years, but somehow, their website still sucks. There are seemingly no improvements ever made to it, beyond the advertising. I am constantly stonewalled by ERROR messages when trying to display future travel, which I'm accessing that way mainly because it isn't listed in Upcoming Travel, where it's supposed to be. Trying to figure out your Rapid Rewards history? There's another lesson in frustration, since they REDEEM the points the day you make the reservation. Then, when you enter the information in the search boxes to bring up the travel details, the **bleep** ERROR message appears. It would be more helpful if they could project the redemption to the date(s) of travel, thereby making the transaction much easier to find. They also do not indicate the passenger name along with the reservation number. The other frustrating item is trying to book a companion. How to accomplish this never seems to be straightforward, or easy. I'm really getting fed up with the ERROR message, the content of which tells me nothing about what the problem may be. Now, I'm about the waste the time of a live, paid person to straighten out the mess of my RR usage history and figure this all out. All of this should be easily accomplished on the website, with no human interaction, or expense. I'm just ranting.

Thank you for the hyperlink, but it didn't work to bring my flight up under My Trips. Still no way to book my companion, short of calling them. Of course, that defeats the purpose of online booking.

I'm attempting to book a companion pass for a flight I booked a few days ago. My flight is not showing up in Upcoming Flights under My Trips. This is not the first time this has happened. It says "You have an upcoming flights that's not listed," but when I type in the confirmation number, it puts me in an endless loop of entering the same info. Still, there is no option anywhere to book my companion. It seems Southwest is making it very difficult to book a companion pass as there is no link for doing so in their confirmation email, on their display of your flight, or on their menu. Why is this the case? Why are my upcoming flights not displaying? It's very frustrating to remember ever day to check the website to see if it finally appears under My Trips, because it never does. My car rental for the trip is displayed, but not my flight. And, bring back drink coupons for VISA users, please.
