I am trying to estimate how many more airfare dollars i need to spend in order to re-qualify for my A-List Preferred. Only fare is used in calculation (excludes taxes etc). Is there a rule of thumb to use? I will fly business select to make up the needed points. thanks. JE

Well the year is almost half over. I am pondering just what the real benefit is for A-list preferred over A-List. I am about 50% qualified. Does anyone have some thoughts and logic to share? thanks.

I looked into renting a car through SWA using a Partner agency. However once i looked and shopped for discounted rates per the advertisements.... i actually found rates cheaper if i booked direct. Where is the advantage or benefit for booking a rental car through SWA?

Yes Kudos to SWA! My wife had dementia (she has now passed away) and we traveled and traveled as long as we could. We got a lot of looks from SWA employees but......the traveling public can be rude and crude. One day those same commentors will walk in those shoes also. Do as you can as long as you can. You have my support.

Thank you for your prompt reply. I am not part of a non profit organization. Just myself. I did not ask for anything free, waived or donated. Just a simple reduction. I did not need to be reminded of your baggage policy. It most cases, i have found because i am not part of a great 501 C3 with great exposure in the media, I am overlooked. Maybe i should have asked for free tickets for a raffle or something. Southwest is and will remain my favorite airline. Thanks you for your understanding.

Hi Lindsey, I know this was the exception. I fly all the time and your crews deal with more cranky passenges. I blew it off. However, the others sitting close by observed it...their impression of the situtation is what we want to protect. SWA rocks. thank you jeff

Hello Everyone! I am planning some mission/relief work again in the Dominican Republic. The next trip i want to take some extra bags or boxes filled with some Roman Noodles for a special orhpanage children's meal. Does anyone know if SWA would reduce their $75 fee down any? Maybe to $25 per box would be manageable.

The new "Plane Crackers" are great. So great i asked flight (male) attendant on flight 413 Nov 1 from Punta Cana back to FLL for an additional bag. "May I have two, these are great". He simply looked at me and rolled his eyes and kept walking. Have been traveling SWA since the 70's and this has never happened. Flight was about 75% full. Two hour flight. His attitude display is not what SWA expects from their employees. Is there a rule about extra nuts or crackers now? J.E
