Can I use points for motel/hotel rooms? If so, how? The limited information on the Southwest website was so confusing and incomplete I am lost. Thanks.

That option is not currently available and was mentioned as returning sometime in 2023. It is also really poor value for your points so you are much better off using RR points for flights.

I think this is the big difference. It's not simply *using* points here and there, it's searching for great redemptions. It's similar to what I told my father years ago, stop redeeming 20-30k airline miles for regular flights when you can do some searching, find sweet spots/off peak in calendars, fly internationally, and look to partner redemptions to really make those miles go further.

@mathuyaar76 in a general sense, yes you should always look for the best redemption. Southwest makes it simple though, you'll get best value from your RR points by booking flights. Since point values are locked you can book any flight and get the same value.
