Do the tier qualifying points bonus from the premier card count towards companion pass? Additionally are those redeemable for flights? What is the benefit of the premier vs plus?

Assuming you're referring to the 1,500 tier qualifying points for every $10,000 you spend (up to 15,000 tier qualifying points per year), no. These only qualify for A-List, not Companion Pass, and they cannot be redeemed for anything.
The Premier card gives more points upon annual renewal (and has a higher annual fee). It also has no foreign transaction fees, vs a 3% fee on the Plus card. Otherwise they are the same.
