I am confused about something. I have a rapid rewards account and earn 6-10X the points per dollar earned, depending on which type of ticket I book. That is what is posted on the SW rapid rewards site. I am considering getting the southwest credit card to earn enough points for a companion pass. However, under the benefits, it says I would earn 2x the points on all Southwest purchases. Does that mean 2X the amount I am already getting...or is this a worse benefit than what I have now? I am confused and cant' find the answer anywhere

Points earned from the Southwest credit card are in addition to the points earned when you fly. You would earn the combined amount of points from flying and from the credit card.
