Cancel first flight & keep second flight in leg

Hi all

My daughter is booked to fly Detroit to Hartwell with a change in Chicago on Monday. She can get a ride with friends to Chicago from where she is easier than getting back to Detroit to take the first flight. How does she go about just cancelling the first flight & keeping the second?

Original booking was Hartwell to Detroit return.

If you are talking about a flight with a connection, I am afraid there is no way to do what you want to do. The flight was booked from city A to city C with a stop in city B, and there is no way to change that..
