But early morning if flying eastbound directly at the sun, it would be ion the nose of the plane, and if flying westbound directly away fro the sun it would be on the tail of the plane,

but

during the day if flying southbound directly at the sun it would also beon the nose of the plane, but if flying northbound directly away from the sun it would be on the tail.

If the plane is facing...

North,
Dawn: Sun to the right; Dusk: Sun to the left

South:
Dawn: Sun to the left; Dusk: Sun to the right

East/West:
According to Southwest's Route Map, all SW flight routes are north the equator. That will generally mean if the plane is flying east or west, the sun will be somewhere on the south side of the plane from dawn to dusk with the worst of the glare likely during the winter months. However, during summer, the sun may end up on the north side of the plane during dawn/dusk, especially as you travel further up north.

Examples:

Traveling from LAS to SAN during the late summer at dusk. Plane is facing southwest. Sun is compass west northwest with a direct glare into the window:

Traveling above a "milky" sky above a rainstorm from SAN to SMF at dawn during late winter in March. The plane is facing north-northwest. The sun rose shortly before take off and is compass-southeast. The camera captured the glare as camera direction was panned toward the wing facing east:
