Congratulations, @London87! Like @Dedezoe97 said, checking with your recruiter is the best course of action for now. I don't have any concrete information yet, but we're committed to conducting our training and onboarding in a safe and COVID-conscious manner, it's top of mind for us. Thanks for your patience while we await that information!

Hey Jose, we're glad to hear you're excited! Yes, the background check and SIDA application can take a few weeks, generally between 4 and 6 weeks. In this case, no news is good news! We can't wait for you to start!

Hey @Zhaneb1! Congratulations, it's great to hear you'll be joining the SWA family soon! I hope you're feeling okay after recovering from COVID. As long as you have at least one dose of the COVID 19 vaccine, you should be okay to get a start date. Feel free to reach out to your recruiter too, they know the ins and outs of the policy.

Hi @ccamp1123. Good question! 3-4 weeks is a pretty normal turnaround time on the USPS background check right now, so I wouldn't worry. If you haven't heard by next week, either let me know here or shoot over an email to your recruiter. Thanks for your patience!

Thanks for your interest! I just checked your application, and it's still in our queue to be reviewed. Sorry for the delay! We're fortunate to receive a significant number of applications, and it just takes a while to get to all of them. I don't have an estimate on when you'll hear more, but we'll contact you once we've reviewed your application. Thanks for your patience!

Good question! While we do work to shorten the turnaround time, a three-week wait on the background check from USPS is unfortunately not uncommon. Thank you for your patience!

Congratulations, @Lserna! It's normal for the background process to take a little while, so I wouldn't stress about not seeing an email for that drug test just yet! Our coordinators will follow up with you once they're ready for you to take it.

Hi Tonyover1! I just reached out to my coheart Kassady, a Coordinator who focuses on hiring Flight Attendants and she's going to double-check those forms for you. If there's anything that needs to be re-done, she's going to send them to you again today. But if you don't hear anything, that means they were submitted correctly the first time. Thanks for checking on this, and congratulations! We're looking forward to welcoming you onboard!

Hi Melina. I'm sorry to hear this! It looks like we did not receive your response to that form which was sent out back in October. Unfortunately, that form was not completed within the prescribed window, so we're unable to continue with next steps. While I know this is disappointing, we hope you'll consider applying again in the future.

Thanks for reaching out, and your interest! We received many thousands of applications for the Flight Attendant position, and we review the submissions in the order they were received. So even if another applicant applied only a few minutes before you did, there could be hundreds or thousands of applicants between you and them. We'd love to get to everyone faster, and our Recruiters are doing their utmost to interview as many Candidates as possible. Please know we'll let you know via email when we're ready with the next steps, but I apologize for any anxiety or worry this has caused! Good luck with your application!

Hi Julie. Thank you for your interest in joining Southwest! Generally, when an application goes from received to closed very quickly it means that the candidate did not meet the requirements we lay out in the prescreening questions, things like 'are you 18' or 'do you have at least X years experience for this role.' Since we receive so many applications, it's important that we use prescreening questions to avoid wasting any applicant's time while they wait to hear back from us. I'm sorry to hear you weren't able to join us this time, but I hope we'll be able to welcome you to our Team someday soon!

Sorry to be slow getting back to you! Training's a mix of virtual and in person, you do some classroom work virtually, but once that's done you go out to the airport you'll be working at and get your hands-on training done! We're not flying people to Dallas right now since most of the folks who work at Headquarters are working from home.
Congratulations on the offer, I'm glad the interview went well!

Hi hinojot1! I reached out to some of the recruiters who work with our AMT apprenticeship program to see if they had any suggestions. Kelly White, who oversees the program and does interviews for it, said he'd be happy to chat about tips and tricks if you want to send him an email (kelly.white2@wnco.com). Good luck!

Hi Althea! We don't have any specific programs in place right now, but you'd want to make sure you have the authorization to work in the United States, and then keep an eye on the career site for a job at whatever station you'd like to move to so you can submit an application. In the meantime, I suggest setting up an appointment with Career Mobility. They'd be happy to talk through the transition process with you and give you some pointers. To set that up, log into SWALife, then hover over Life & Career and click on Career Main. Once there, hover over Internal Careers and click on Career Mobility. If you scroll down a bit, you'll see an option to schedule a meeting. Good luck!

Hi Ingrid. I'm sorry to hear you weren't selected at this time, but we appreciate you considering us! The "minimum requirements" you're referencing are pre-screening questions we ask. Things like "are you 18" or "are you authorized to work in the United States." Sometimes we see candidates who click through those too fast and select the wrong answer. While we're unable to modify an application that was already submitted, I encourage you to double-check those answers in the future. Thank you again for your consideration, and we hope you'll apply again soon!
