@tdettore Hi Taylor! Have you had an interview yet? If not, be sure to explain the prior experience that isn't on your resume to the interviewer. As for the 'in process' status of your application, from what I've seen, they all say that so far. As long as you haven't gotten a denial email, there's no need to worry. I know, easier said than done. Good luck to you!!

@KLaMonica the FAA/Fed information?? Is there a site that I can find that info and start learning it now?? I've already been studying the city codes, and will be comfortable with that part of the test. I'm just trying to be as prepared as possible when I go to Dallas. I'm praying all my background info comes back in time for the 9/12 class for the CS&S position.
I've already provided my covid vaccination, birthdate, and SS# on 7/12, but am waiting for the emails regarding the drug test, fingerprint, and to actually authorize the background process.
Any insight is greatly appreciated!

For the city code test, will we get the city and have to know the code? Get the code and have to know the city? Combination of both?? I know I would have a hard time trying to remember how to spell a few of the cities. I just want to be totally prepared when I go to Dallas. Yep! You read that right! 😎

@MontrellA different recruiters have different processes. Some may offer a time for the next interview during the phone interview, and others may send an email later. Just depends on the recruiter. Good luck!!

@About2be I'm looking at possibly working through a staffing agency until I go to Dallas. (Positive thinking!!) And creating a thread looking for other local co-hearts traveling the same time as me is a great idea!
I saw a fb post a little while ago saying they received an offer shortly after their virtual interview today! I'm so excited for them!! Of course, they have to clear all the background process, but still... they got an offer!! I figured it would be days after the virtual before anyone heard anything! It's getting real!!

Thank you for the replies, I appreciate it! So sorry it took a few days to reply, but I've been applying to multiple part-time temp positions to keep the bills paid until I go to Dallas for training. (I'm claiming 1 of the CS&S positions! 😀) Hopefully my flight will be early enough to be able to get a shuttle. As for staying the weekend, I saw in a tiktok video from a current employee, we will stay there the entire 2 weeks. I hope that info helps other candidates make the needed arrangements!

For those that get hired, once we land in Dallas, is there a shuttle to the hotel? And is it possible to stay the weekend between training weeks??
I don't know about other cities, but here at MCI, people fly back home just to find their vehicle stolen from the airport. That includes the pay-per-day garages, too. I'm not taking a chance leaving my car unattended for 7+ days, so my son will be driving my car back to his house from the airport, and then picking me up when I get home. Since he isn't on my insurance, I'd rather not have to have him make more than the initial drop off and pick up (although he is a really good driver). Thank you in advance!!

@Mrsbrooks31 Thank you!! I got an email. I have alerts set up on my phone, so not only was I stalking my email on my laptop, I had my phone right next to me when I got the alert. I had seen someone post that they didn't see the email right away, so all the time slots were already taken. She emailed her recruiter, and the recruiter called her back to get it scheduled. I didn't want to take the chance of missing possible times, so I was on it! lol!

@skyrick thank you! My phone interview was with a Southwest employee. Good luck to you! I know we can't all be hired, but I wish we could ALL be going to Dallas! Can you imagine the facility that would hold that many people!?!? lol!

@skyrick morning! When I got the email, there was a link to click. It opened a new tab, and there were several options (buttons) to chose from. They were actually pre-selected times that you chose from, and I believe there were 5 or 6, but I'm not positive. (I was too excited to really notice! lol!). I do remember that there was 1 Wednesday option, as well as 1 Thursday option, and maybe a couple of Friday options, and the times are already set. I'm guessing the options were the times that your interviewer is available. My first option was 3 hours after the email came out, so I selected that one. I've already got my virtual interview scheduled, and it shows up on my workday page. My application also still shows as in process. I'm thinking it will until a decision is made. Good luck to you!!

@About2be awww shucks! Thank you for the kind words. I know how anxious I was waiting for 'that email' so if I can help, I'm glad to do so.
@kab0126 Hi Kahleif! I know people have probably told you to be patient, but I also know it is hard to do! There were 27,000 applications submitted, so it will take some time.
I had seen so many people posting that they had gotten an email to set up a time for a phone interview, and that they had submitted their application within 30 minutes of the job posting. Some of those posts were just a few days after we all applied. I was beginning to lose hope when I woke up 2 days ago and I still hadn't received anything. I also had submitted mine within about 30ish minutes. However, just before 9:30 yesterday morning, I got 'that email' and was totally elated!! I know it probably wasn't the best thing for my nerves, but I stalked my email every single day. Multiple times an hour. lol!
Do you remember about what time you got your application submitted?? Keep the faith! If this is the position for you, it will be yours! Also, have you signed up with the Talent Community?? If not, do so. There is a webinar every Tuesday at noon (central time) with helpful information. (You'll get an email with the webinar link.) This week was preparing for an interview - be yourself, smile through the phone, study the STAR method interview process. There are a lot of youtube videos on this, and I suggest going ahead and writing down a situation for each different possibility so you're prepared, and practice them as if you are actually in an interview. Don't just read what you wrote during the interview, though. You're having a conversation with a friend, so relax.
I haven't had an interview in 15+ years, so I was extremely nervous, but my interviewer was so nice and made me feel at ease. Good luck, and keep us posted!!

@TPArampgirl I just want to make sure I'm fully prepared for the city code test. From my searching, I've come up with 121 city codes for Southwest. Is that correct? If there are more, can you point me in the right direction to a complete list? I saw on another post someone said they had to memorize 240 city codes! If that's the case, I'm only half way there!!

@TPArampgirl , thank you! I had a feeling it probably was, but wanted to make sure.

I searched and searched, but can't find it again -
Someone's post had info regarding the city code test. It didn't give specifics, but that the practice/learning was done on paper, in alphabetical order by code, but the test was broken up into sections.
Is the test timed? Is it on the computer?

@adrienneb, do you know if resume upload emails are being sent out? I've seen people posting that they received an email to schedule an interview already, but nothing about uploading a resume.
When I joined the talent community, I uploaded it then. Is there a way for them to see that when looking at applications?? I'm getting a bit nervous over here since they are going by the order of applications submitted, and I'm pretty sure mine was submitted a little after 9am CST, although I didn't actually check the time. Any help is appreciated.

@About2be Thank you for the insight! If you can get insight from other CS&S's, that would be awesome! And I've been using sporcle.com for learning. It's a timed test. I also made flash cards for the more difficult codes such as PDX, which is nowhere close to the city name. lol!
I've got an information webinar/session tomorrow, and I'm hoping to find out a lot more. As for military time, I've got 20+ years experience in the medical field (CNA & CMT), so I had to chart military time. I also already know time zones for the states, so no problem there.
Thanks for the chat! I woke up just after 5 this morning, so it's time for me to get to bed! Have a great night!!

@About2be Thank you for replying! Yes, I got that email on Tuesday, and got it set up. I got the confirmation email yesterday, showing that my application had been submitted. This afternoon, I got an email with webinar info for tomorrow to let us know more about the position.
For those of us waiting, can you give some insight as to what all is covered in the first 2 weeks of training?? I know it won't be until September (so I'm looking for temporary work until then), but I like to be prepared. I don't know if it'll be covered, but I've already been learning the Southwest city codes. I'm at 85%! lol!

I got the 'Application Received' email on Tuesday, and my application is showing in process on my candidate home page. Has anyone gotten an email with further instructions, yet?? Such as uploading a resume since we weren't able to do so during the application process?
If there are any current employees that see this, can you tell us about how long it might be before we see any updated information? I know there was an overwhelming response to the job posting so it may take a bit, but should we expect something within a week? Two weeks or more?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
