All purchases on the card, regardless of who makes them, will earn points in the primary account holder's Rapid Rewards account. Alternately, she could open her own account and earn her own points.

If you've booked the flight as a connection (all flights on Southwest) then your bags will be checked all the way to your final destination. You'll want to check in online, and as close to 24 hours prior to departure as possible. This will get you the best boarding positons so that you can sit together. The at the airport you'll just check your bags, get a boarding pass and head to the gate. The biggest issue will be access to the Southwest website -- as it's unavailable for many customers outside the US. Are you able to access the website now?

It appears that bookings for travel after May 9, 2017, no longer allow for the refund of the September 11 Security Fee upon cancellation, only that the amount will be held for future travel (subject to an expiration date and passenger name lock). This is regardless of fare type, and applies to both cash and points bookings. A refund in form of original purchase method was always an option previously. I've found no mention of this change on the Southwest website, including the Next Generation Reservation System FAQ. Is this an official policy change?

Note that a major policy change, effective for all travel after May 9, 2017, can effectively make Anytime or Business Select fares no longer fully refundable. If you make any change to a refundable fare itinerary, it becomes non-refundable. In order to reserve refundability, you must cancel and rebook, not change. This is a huge, customer unfriendly policy change that I suspect will trip up many -- especially business travelers. 😞

FYI: It's not new, it's always been this way. Mobile boarding passes have never been available for itineraries with more than one passenger. This "oversight" is a pretty big one, and a major negative for Southwest.

Travel funds are only good towards a new flight (plus taxes, etc.), but nothing else. Yes, only valid for the original passenger(s), and yes all travel must happen prior to one year from the original date of purchase. Also, any new flights you use that credit towards will also expire at the same time, so be careful. Hope this helps!

Unfortunately, no -- Southwest enforces the No-Show policy essentially without exception. (Assuming it was a non-refundable fare, and not a points booking.)

If it's a Wanna Get Away fare, simply rebook online and choose the same flights (at the lower fare). This will ensure you don't lose EarlyBird Check-In, if purchased. The fare difference will be held as travel funds for future use under the confirmation number, valid for one year from the date of purchase. If it's a Business Select, Anytime or any other refundable fare, cancel for refund and then rebook. This will ensure you don't lose refundability if needed later.

Since carry on bag dimensions vary widely, the best answer is "maybe." Yours seems very close to the allowed size, so I would suspect you'll have no problem. Good luck!

When booking your flight, the input area for Gift Cards will show up under the Payment section. Note: Gift cards never expire. But if you use them to buy a ticket, and then need to cancel that ticket, even if it's a fully-refundable one the funds from the card will be converted into ticketless travel funds, locked to the name of the original passenger, and valid for only one year from the original date of purchase.

While PreCheck is not guaranteed, if you've paid the $85 fee you should be getting it 95% of the time (vs opting in via a carrier). If not, it's likely a systems issue (assuming the ticket name matches the KTN name exactly). Also, note that there is no such thing as TSA PreCheck card. Global Entry does offer a card that shows the passenger's KTN, which provides PreCheck, but there are no cards for just PreCheck. It is probably still a good idea to have your KTN written down before trying to have it added at the counter.

Note that, as posted earlier, if it's ski equipment, one bag = two bags... meaning you can actually have three separate bags. Those two bags of ski equipment need to be under 50 lbs combined.

Unfortunately, there are known issues with Southwest's systems populating the KTN from a profile to a reservation. Your best bet is to call and see if they can add it manually, then reprint your boarding pass. But call times are very long at the moment dealing with cancellations due to the west coast weather. You can try at the airport tomorrow as you've suggested -- you'll need to use the full service counter (not express bag drop). Hope this helps -- Good luck!

No, points are simply returned to your account. They are not attached to a particular passenger or carry an expiration date, as travel funds do. (Note that all points expire after 2 years without point earning activity.)

This issue isn't with TSA and/or random non-inclusion, it's with Southwest and their systems. There is a known issue with KTN's populating to a reservation from a customer's profile. Also, the systems are very touchy and the names in Southwest's booking must match the name TSA granted the KTN to exactly -- including any middle initial and/or jr, sr, etc. Unfortunately, your best bet at the moment is to double-check each booking to make sure the KTN transfered over, and call Southwest is your boarding pass doesn't initially show PerCheck. They can add the KTN manually and you can then reprint your BP. Good luck.

The credit is saved under the confirmation number. You'll apply those funds by entering that confirmation number when you book a new flight. Remember though, the funds expire one year from the original date you made the first purchase, and all travel must be completed by then. Also, and new reservation will take on that earlier expiration date, so be careful. Hope this helps!

Early Bird will assign your positions 36 hours prior to departure. You can check yourselves in (and see what positions you've been assigned) beginning 24 hours prior to departure. You can do this online, or at the airport. Hope this helps!

You're absolutely correct. Many customers have now discovered that they need only buy one Early Bird Check In and can then save as many seats for their traveling partners as needed. Southwest allows seat saving. And last year, Southwest earned over $240 million on Early Bird Check In alone. So, it's unlikely anything will change anytime soon, policy-wise. Expect more and more seat saving.
