I know at times it can seem like an unfair process, especially when you see people abuse the disability privilege by requesting wheelchair assistance but seem to be the first ones out of their seats after landing and walk to the exit but process Southwest has for boarding is significantly shorter than other airlines who use a very rigid boarding system. The value of first come, first serve seating reduces the boarding time considerably and helps the plane take off on time.
