Has anyone earned a companion pass without having first earned A List Preferred? That seems to be our case but does seem unusual to us and it has never happened in this order previously. Thanks!

Yes, agreed. Just now made aware that ALL flights in and out of Denver are cancelled due to weather. I can confirm as my son lives in the Denver area and all state/government offices are closed today. Believe me, I LOVE Southwest. Must be a mess.

Mr. JMSCHEDLER, All I want to say is I understand your incredulousness that the airline cannot see their way through to help you out here. I understand what the other posters have said re: how "easy" it is to keep your points, and it's the customer's responsibility, and who knows how many other people will start calling about lost points... So sorry and I join you in your concern. My husband and I travel often and are not currently at risk of being in your position, but come retirement, I will be very careful to pay attention to our yearly travel. Thank you for sharing your experience as dissapointing as it is.
