I like the new livery, especially the heart, but with the exception of the "Southwest" branding over the windows. The white branding with the stark contrast of the windows makes it look like somebody used the aircraft for target practice.

Going slightly off-topic, is the "Ding" sound effect available anywhere for download? I'd love to use it as a notification sound on my PC or my phone. I figure if they've rendered it for commercials, it has to be available somewhere, but I can't find it.

My dream route would be if you made a Chicago-Des Moines-Wichita-Dallas route (and reverse, of course), so I could fly to Wichita nonstop from DSM.
What...seems like a logical Southwest route.

I COMPLETELY geeked out at the Wein aircraft pictures. It's hard enough to find images of Wein aircraft, let alone landing on gravel. Thanks!

Am I reading that correctly? You'll have taken deliver on 24 737-800's by October?

Is there any chance we might get advance notice on when the first revenue flight for this aircraft will be? I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking I might go out of my way to book a seat on it for the novelty of having been there.

I have flown a few of Republic's Embraers with what appears to be similar style seats (in Frontier configuration...the planes in Republic configuration were horrible) and, based on that experience, don't see a problem here. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised with those.
Obviously I'll reserve final judgement until I've actually experienced them in the Southwest configuration, but initially, I see no problem here.
(DISCLAIMER...I have never had a problem with Southwest's seat pitch or width.)

You pretty well had me at "I make sure every aircraft is staffed with three Flight Attendants".
I can't even imagine the logistics of scheduling something like that.

I'll just venture a guess that this is a good sign that the Southwest brand will be making its way into the Des Moines market eventually.
(No no...don't ruin my buzz...)

Kudos to Southwest for allowing the posts from concerned (potential) customers. These posts are screened, and Southwest has thus far allowed 60-plus comments to be posted (tastefully) criticizing the airline.
As for those of us non-allergic types...I had the honey-roasted nuts on a flight yesterday, and I loved 'em. I need to find a big jar of these for the house. 🙂
