Nearly one-third of our Station Leaders across the Southwest system are female. In honor of Women’s History Month, we’re excited to spotlight incredible women like Atlanta Station Manager Monique Richard.

When I first started out as an Oakland Customer Service Agent in 1995, I didn’t think it was going to be a career. Fast forward 23 years later, and I manage one of the busiest and most complex operations as Station Manager for the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
In March, we celebrated Women’s History Month, and as a female Ground Operations Leader, I’m honored to work for a Company who has continually given women opportunities in Leadership.
Throughout my Southwest journey, I’ve had many phenomenal mentorswho saw my potential, and encouraged me to take the next step. It wasn’t always easy; there were times when I was given stretch assignments that challenged me and took me out of my comfort zone.
