Why doesn't Southwest just make a tender offer for enough Frontier shares to get control and own Frontier ? Southwest has enough cash to do that. That would put Southwest in control of the situation.

Is Southwest promising to keep ALL the "new" cities obtained through a Frontier acquisition? The only one mentioned as being dropped off the route map was DFW in favor of Love Field because of existing operations there. What about Akron, OH then? Isn't it too close to Cleveland operations to leave it as a standalone CAK-DEN flight route? What about Dayton, will the operations be expanded there like with other Southwest cities with multiple flights to multiple hubs as Atlanta will be eventually? With the purchase of Lynx that seems to secure the fate of the short-hop cities currently provided by Frontier. The Mexican/Costa Rica destinations seem secure. What about Anchorage?

I am disgusted with some of the flight attendants at Southwest. They seem to think that it is ok to forget their professionalism when it comes to dealing with the public. My wife and I were yelled at for asking a flight attendant for a beverage. We were unaware that they had stopped services due to turbulence since we were napping at the time turbulence occurred.

Jim McOmber collects flight schedules of two airlines; Braniff and Southwest Airlines. There is a finite number of Braniff flight schedules since they ceased operations in 1982 (Jim has almost all of them) and Southwest Airlines is the last of the big airlines that was still printing schedules. For Jim, his collection of airline flight schedules has come to an end. Pictured: Southwest flight schedule from 1975 showing back and front. It was the size of a double business card.

Southwest will LUV Boston. I have been to Boston many times there is so much to do their. The best thing I have done in Boston in climb to the top of the Prudential Building to the Skywalk observation deck. It provides a panoramic view of the city. I have wanted to work for SWA since I was 10. Now that they fly into Logan that is the airport I hope to work at

You probably know you shouldn’t do either of those things on a flight but have you ever wondered what happens if you do? I speak with Southwest Airlines Flight Attendant, Neicee Coulson about what happens when someone gets caught smoking in the aircraft lav and First Officer Roy Alan explains why cell phones interfere with the electronics on board and why it is okay to use some electronics above 10,000 feet. As part of this interview in the cockpit, This episode even has a demonstration of how electronics can affect other electronics; listen to the interview in the cockpit with Ray. Some people might just call it a hum in the background—I call it a demonstration.

It seems you have to blog about mommy stuff to be considered a “Mommy Blogger.” Don’t feel bad, I didn’t know either--and in all fairness had never really thought about it. My guest this episode of Red Belly Radio is the delightful Jessica Turner—our consummate mommy blogger. I’d rather you listen to this current episode of Red Belly Radio but if you like, Jessica maintains a nice site where, in addition to blogging about travels with her family, gives tips on scrapbooking.

As I recall, cows seem to stand up with their back legs first, then their front legs. But calves sometimes would go with the front legs first, followed by the back, I believe, or all four legs unfolding at once.
We sold the dairy the year Southwest Airlines started flying, and I've tried to blog the memory out of my mind (the memory of the dairy, not Southwest).

I recorded this episode of Red Belly Radio at a restaurant. Not just any old dive but Wolfgang Puck’s newest fine dining establishment located atop the landmark Reunion Tower in Dallas. I suppose Wolfgang and his people are smart enough to name a restaurant, but Wolfgang and his people are nice enough to open the naming process into a contest, and then give the prize of food to the winners. Can you see where this is going?

I can say that in past tense because I asked Bob Sprague and recorded it for Red Belly Radio. Bob is the Assistant Technical Pilot in our Flight Operations Department here at Southwest Airlines, and he explains in rather simple terms how a geometric shape (a wing) can enable us to fly through the air (in an airplane). The short answer is “Lift” and should not be confused with our new onboard coffee—although the double-entendre is obvious. Give this episode a listen and tell your friends—you never know it might help you with a physics test someday in your future!

Never let it be said that the vision and work of one person can’t change things for a lot of people. This episode of Red Belly Radio is about the Southwest Airlines Employees Catastrophic Assistance Charity—and the vision of a man who brought it to life. About 19 years ago, Randy Rickard had the idea to assist our Employees in times of need. Simple enough, if everybody donated very small amounts of every paycheck, it could add up to a lot of money.
