It's common for recruiters not the close out applications. I have had several go months with no update or contact. It's one area where I feel SWA could be a lot more transparent and respectful of an applicant's time. Perhaps @adrienneb can help you?

I see a ramp agent position in Charleston, SC, that pays $17 an hour. The average rent for a 1-BR is 2k, the median home price is about 500K for the entire metro area, closer to 800K in the city. How can one expect people to live on these wages, @adrienneb?

I am sorry that your application was rejected. I have mentioned this to SWA a few times. Some jobs do, but for many jobs nowhere in the job description does it mention that you must be a resident of the state to be considered. One must fill out the entire application, then with the last question, be asked if you are a resident of that particular state (but still doesn't state if this is in fact a necessity for consideration). I feel that SWA could easily remedy this confusion for applicants. Perhaps @adrienneb can assist? Good luck!

Some job descriptions do indeed state the residency requirement, however many do not. Also, from what I've experienced, it's not mentioned in the job description, but at the end of the application one is asked if they are a resident of the state, with no clarification if this is in fact a requirement or not for consideration.

Why don't the applications state in the job description about residency requirements? I've applied to three different roles, with all not mentioning in the description that the applicant must reside in the job posting's respected state. One must go through the entire application to only at the end ask if they are a resident of the state. It would save everyone's time if this was made clear in the job advertisement itself.

Hey, @adrienneb,

First of all, I'm sorry to hear you did not get the position you were looking for. I can relate. I've been trying to land a role for a long while. It can be frustrating on many levels. However, it is a company that I really want to work for and I will keep applying. If you keep knocking on doors, one will eventually open. Just stay positive! I wish you luck!

No, just the airports that SWA serves. This should help.

Unfortunately, the recruiters don't close out the requisitions in real time. I had one that said "in process" for five months. Hopefully they get better at updating candidates. It can be frustrating.

Stay patient. It's a busy and hectic time right now with the airlines. They'll be in touch with you. Congrats on the offer!

No, as long as your application says "in progress" you're still under review. Good luck!

They don't open up very often at GSP, since it's a smaller station. If you haven't already done so, I recommend setting up job alerts for that location. Good luck!

Yes, I've had this happen twice. I was told one week and then two, both ended up being more like a month after many unanswered emails and voicemails. It can be extremely frustrating, but having the upmost of patience is required.

I am trying to determine if I am still in consideration for the Austin and/or St. Louis ramp supervisor positions. My application seems to be in limbo.

In my experience, the "closed complete" means that you'll not be moved forward. I wouldn't let it deter you, though. Keep applying if you really want to work for SWA. Eagerness pays off. Best of luck!

This happened to me once as well. I would email the recruiter letting them know you didn't withdraw your application.
