you're very welcome! You can also go here https://swamedia.com/pages/contracts and then do a google search for the union of the workgroup you're interested in. Majority of them have their contracts available to read so you can get specifics. Keep in mind, too, a few of the unions on property are in negotiations now so those contracts could change in the next few months. Good luck in your search!

It depends on your workgroup and their union contract. For the most part, if you work at the airport then, yes. It's different for flight crews I believe.

it honestly won't take that long. you have to complete your 6 month probation but obce that's done I'd imagine they'd offer it fairly soon after. I didn't know many part timers that stayed that way for long unless they wanted to.

if you are curious about work rules and what your union contract looks like you can google search "southwest ramp union" and it'll be the first result. I can't post a link here because both the union(s) and company like to keep things in their own spaces if that makes sense.

It is! But if you've never worked the ramp before it's going to take some getting use to. Bidding is depending on the city. We use to bid monthly for our schedules. Job assignments are posted first thing in the morning and change depending on needs and staffing for the day. You can always ask a coworker to switch job duties. Just notify your supervisor who you switched with (it's better if you both approach a supervisor together honestly). Some people prefer one job duty over the other. it's not uncommon to have people approach you daily to switch duties. You can also do what's called "buddy bidding" where 2 people agree to work for each other in a given month and have more days off per week. There's plenty of options!

It takes 11 years to reach the top of the pay scale and current contract rates are $32.06 /hr once you pass 11 years. Remains the same until a new contract is negotiated usually every 5 years or so. Rates will increase with each new contract so it's likely you'll hit that 32/hr in around 8 years or 9 years time and then from there to the new 11-year top out.

Looks just like mine! Definitely fill it out. I got my travel confirmation the same day and my final offer letter the next day. It comes in a little staggered but it's all a good thing! See you in class and welcome to SWA 🙂

They'll email you in addition to reaching out via phone (also will leave a voicemail) as far as I'm aware they won't just cold call you. There will usually be an email first with a time for the call and my recruiter had "Southwest Airlines" as her caller ID.
I screen my calls too so I know where you're coming from! Best of luck 🙂
