I also hit 15 in September. CONGRATS!!! I even forgot my anniversary until my Sup called in me to give me my pin and watch. WOW! Time flies when you are having fun. When we got hired you were either a late 19 or a very early 20 and now they are in the mid 85. It has been a great ride so far and I look forward to another 15!

HI, Ricky! Thanks, & you're welcome. I wish you well in your goal to become part of the SWA family, too!
I'm really not sure what road blocks are keeping me from my goal. I've tried to find out what I can to do to improve my chances of being invited for training, but never received responses. 😞 I'm overqualified because I have an AA & a BA degree, but I know there are other employees out there with degrees! I had an FA once when I was coming back from MCO (Orlando) last month who'd been a doctor! If he can get hired, so can I! Another thing I think is that I may not have sounded confident in my interviews. I just don't know though, & still wonder.
Well, please keep us updated! 🙂

I kno I will B tlking 2 Friends and Family in Cty Codes. I have been practicing them 4ever and will never stop untill I know every1 by heart. I am jst going 2 expect my friends and family 2 keep up and learn, so that I can love what I am going 2 B doing even more. I cant wait 2 start training with SWA. I will be flying out of SLC 2 HOU and well the thought of going to SEA, OAK, PDX,PHX, LAS,LAX, BWI, JAN,LGA, DAL, ELP, SMF, SFO is so exciting there are many others but I did not want 2 list them all. My question 4 this blog is how it will affect our Dictionary. ? Will we start listing things in abrv. or have a new kind of Dic. to reference all of the abrv. in the world?

On a recent Southwest trip the flight attendant announced that someone on board had a peanut allergy, and therefore the normal peanuts would not be distributed; instead, they passed out small bags of pretzels. So, at the airport for the return flight, I bought a very expensive (airport prices!) bag of peanuts just in case the same thing happened. On that flight, there was another peanut allergy, but because the pretzels apparently are manufactured at a facility that processes peanuts, they wouldn't be distributing pretzels either, and they told us not to open any peanuts that we might have brought on board. (Wish they had said that on the first flight; it would have saved me several dollars.) I guess they didn't read the packaging for the snack box; those items also were manufactured in facilities that process peanuts, but I guess eliminating that as well would have caused a mutiny. If you're going to inconvenience all of your customers because of one person's allergy, you should be aware that I'm allergic to middle seats, and to waiting in line for over an hour. And I'll happily give up peanuts for an aisle seat, or for any two seats together when traveling with my spouse -- it's monumentally stupid to make a party of two who booked their tickets weeks or months in advance take two middle seats.

Mary,
Nice to see someone from my hometown airport blogging!!
Sounds like your way past due for a trip like this.. Hope you have the time of your life with your dad and siblings, although I do believe you are right about staying away from the rails...lol
We fly STL to TPA quite a bit , one of those trips is usually with the kids and grandbabies during spring break but this year my grandmother is very sick and plans couldn't be made because I need to stick around and take care of things..
This yearly trip is one of my favorite times, spending time with my family and those memories that the babies are building, always puts a smile on my face..
Looks like my hubby and I will be going it alone as soon as my grandmother is better..
I will miss the family time but we always have next year..
Sending good thoughts that your special trip goes even better than planned..:o)
