Southwest requires that you are available at all times, and that the job takes priority over whatever other activities you may be involved in. It seems that the trend is once you are certified, you’ll probably go to evenings/nights. Once you are certified though, you are able to trade and giveaway hours. Good luck with your situation. @MsPrez if you're both local to the area, then there may not be an issue. However, having someone travel with you to Dallas would be frowned upon. Personally, I would use the after training times to partner up with someone, or a group of people, to study what has been covered in training, or to study for tests. ... View more
