most likely in the same manner as all other airlines. You can blame the 'miracle flight' abusers (need wheelchair to get on first to get a good seat), then magically healed in air and no longer in need of a wheelchair to deplane.

now with the upcoming changes to open seating this problem should mostly go away. The ones who game the system with wheelchairs will no longer get to pick the 'good seats' by early boarding as they have already been assigned. Watch for a dramatic decrease in the number of wheelchairs at the boarding gates.

Absolutely! I have and do. And have been asked by entitled folks to 'switch seats' countless times (I decline and then endure their hostile insults and wrath). Can you imagine buying tickets for a Concert or Broadway show and trolling rows closer to the stage asking to switch seats? The number of entitled, spoiled pax flying now is ever growing and ridiculous

It is long overdue for SW to fly to Canada. I'm not buying the 'official' position that it has to do with currency conversion. Sounds more like some undiscussed Governmental pressure to keep SW out of Canada? Now would be the time for SW to buy one of the Canadian carriers for instant access to Canada

Been flying SW for 40 years and LUV the new assigned seating. Frankly, SW let the boarding process get out of control with the abuse by the wheelchair and family boarding crowd. Greatly hoping SW makes the forward cabin premium seating too. I'll gladly pay for it.

Here's a suggestion for the rampant abuse of the 'special needs' pre boarding. Require families and those folks 'needing a little extra time' to take any seat AFTER row 18. After all, if they take extra time boarding they will also require extra time exiting. I would love to see SW try this experiment to see if it cuts down on the abuse of the system.

I’m all in for the suggested changes ( and more). It’s time to add reserved seat assignments, higher priced seats with more pitch (2x2) seating. I ride WN for less than 1.5 hours. Anything more than that i ride a mainline carrier and I am willing to pay for it.

I hope the rumors are true. Rumors that SW will be doing away with open seating and go to an assigned seating, boarding by row environment. Open seating worked 30, 20, 10 years ago but not now. Not with all flights at 100% occupancy.
