Where is the LUV for MSP? Perfect time to add some California so we can connect to Hawaii. It's virtually impossible. Let's also continue LAS-MSP. Not sure that should ever be dropped with a destination like Vegas.

Then don't, but it won't be worth suggesting they "buy other aircraft." It won't happen because you want them to. STILL safer than driving a car...even with the MAX.

Keep up the additions at MSP! I like the Orlando service happening this Nov/Dec/Jan in addition to March/April. LAS needs to get to year-round. Every season, I check the loads and they are outstanding. LUV IT!

Thanks Bill! Good to see your summary article return and looking forward to the Spring Break release on Aug 16th! For MSP (my home), great to see DAL become a daily addition. A good mix starting to really show up at MSP now. Lastly, it does appear MCO was a Nov/Dec Saturday-only. I don't think this was the case in 2017, so this is also good news! Keep up the additions. Let's work on a LAS being 2x daily! It's too short of a seasonal spring flight as it is. Steve

737's won't make it directly from MSP. I'll say this though, add flights from MSP to the West Coast and have one-stop, same-plane service. Additionally, just add more cities from MSP! Seems a stretch, though, given you are adding Hawaii to your route map and growing more in CA...eventually you just need more planes to add to MSP!

smadnek, But what are the fares on MKE-SFO? What we as consumers don't know is whether Southwest makes a profit there OR can simply be MORE profitable moving the plane elsewhere. Tough calls for sure though.

Gotta keep advocating for more at MSP! Several time banks with ZERO flights out of T2 during the day. Gates are Common Use - so let's see some LUV in those gates! 20 cities to CA and MSP is not one of them.

Thanks for the great updates Bill! Love the transparency this airline has with all of us. It seems MSP-TPA is 2x Saturday's this year versus only 1x Saturday last year. Great news! But, if I recall, did MSP-RSW get reduced vs. last year, same time? Also great, and hoping it runs permanently beyond Mar/Apr, is the return of MSP-LAS. Thanks again and looking forward to 8/28 schedule extension. Steve

Is there a summary document of the changes in this schedule? Of note, YoY, MSP is down from 25 departures to 22, mid-week. Thanks, Steve

Tkoren, the loads on MSP-MKE aren't good. Mainly, half the seats filled. This is per DOT records I have found.

Thanks for the quick reply Bill! I guess I thought you had 5 gates, given one is an A and B gate. Maybe you can still only place one aircraft there. Are you at the mercy of MAC and airport officials to add on? My recollection is 2020 for additional gates at Humphrey. steve

Thanks as always Bill! Having connected to/from MSP via MKE, I understand the cut. MSP will be down to roughly 23 daily departures. Lowest in a few years, if I recall. Hopefully, we can start to see new routes with the addition/replacement of aircraft in 2018. It seems rather disappointing to not see MSP hit some sort of higher growth, given other carriers more rapidly expanding offerings at MSP. steve

Woohoo! Gotta LUV the BNA-MSP route! Thanks Southwest (and Bill)! I see the reduction in ATL, which makes sense up against BNA, regionally. My Wish List for MSP: - add back LAS, year round - something to Cali/PNW - DAL/HOU - Northeast - BOS before JetBlue does - Florida - maybe more than seasonal. I remember flying to MCO non-stop in Nov '13 and the flight was less than half full. I bet that would be different now! Take care and thanks! Steve O

Good story. My youngest (4) is also obsessed. He has travelled on about 5 trips, all via Southwest. This year, he finally flew on the new Heart livery. There we were in PHX Sky Harbor and he is jumping up and down at 9:30 PM telling everyone the plane has "letters on the side."

Hi Bill, This seems like the shortest extension to a schedule ever. Interesting, however, MSP-LAS (which we discussed last extension) appears to be ending. I wonder if it was even given enough of a chance. Customers have only been able to book it for a couple of months, yes? And, it was only available from 3/9-4/24 as a single, daily flight. Lastly, with what appears to be strong support at MSP, in May 2017, Southwest will be down to 25 flights per day (I checked a Thursday in early May) compared to about 28 in April. I get the seasonal adjustments, but taking MDW down to 6 and PHX to 2? I love to analyze this more. Looking forward to your reply, Bill! Steve

Thanks for the info Bill! I'm hoping for the same. It looks like the BWI-MSP service which began this past April is doing well and even goes up to some 3x/day service. I'm betting MSP-LAS will stick and I am wishing you all the best on it! Steve

I know it costs $15/passenger, each way, but I would suggest Early Bird. Almost guaranteed at least a B, likely A positions.

I have to say, I feel Early Bird sometimes does not function properly. Example: I paid for early bird and received a B position. Okay, I get that can ACTUALLY happen. However, the next time I flew, I did NOT purchase early bird. When I checked in, I had A16. Seriously, so not one passenger on a full 737-700 booked early bird. I find that hard to believe. I like the system, but I can almost guarantee it is not perfect.
