Sounds like a wacky conspiracy theory to me, but whatever floats your boat.
The conspiracy is in the part of Mother Nature, just a busy storm season this spring. Your experience should even out over the rest of the year. I’m sure they get reports from the previous pilot about turbulence, sometimes it clears up but they’ve already decided to cancel.

My husband and I travel often. We get TSA pre most of the time. What a bummer when we don't. I'm thinking about appying for TSA pre for $85, but so far haven't found the need. We are approved about 9 out of 10 flights.

So shouldn't your family pay to upgrade? Why should your status insure they get priority boarding?

There really is next to no differences in many other carriers now in price. Especially when you can get rid of the hassle of having to bookend to another location around your international flight. And I'm not speaking of any flight the=at requires any overnight stay involved. In my case, I can book a very early morning flight to Orange County then a flight two hours later to Puerto Vallarta, and the same in the reverse. Both sets of flights, each occuring on a one day for each direction. There is no explainable reason why we should have to book two separate itinaries for a flight to an international location when your talking the same day and the same airline.

You can go back at anytime and check for early bird on your receipt, there will be either a square outlined in green saying EB or something that looks like a sun rising. Make sure you have checked each traveler when purchasing the early bird. I book my flights, and then go back in to add the EB. I hope you have better luck in the future!
