I have referred a friend to apply for a southwest chase credit card, she did get approved right away. I received my 10 000 points and a companion pass as well, but a friend decided to cancel a new card before even using it, should I be worried about my companion pass and earned points being revoked. I am about to book a flight using my points and do not want any last-minute surprises because of that. Please advise. Thank you.

My look at the sitution seems to indicate that you earn points as soon as the person you referrIed s accepted for the card. I found nothing about that person keeping the card.
Thus, IMO I think your points are safe.

Of course, you could always ask the firm that gave you the points: Chase.

My friend was approved and neither one of us have received points. How long will this take?

I presume you have looked at the terms & conditions for the offer?

In a normal scenario, it's after the first statement. Hope it comes soon.

We both got our point with the 1st billing cycle of the new card holder, just we I had more friends!
