We just got a new SWA card to try to earn Companion pass for 22-23.
I want to be sure we time our first $2K properly to be sure it posts in 2022, NOT 2021.
Since it is already December 5 & we won't get our cards for 7-10 days, are we safe just to begin charging all expenses?
Or do we risk a timing error & need to hold off charging until January?
Is there any way to know when our first statement will close?
I don't want to ASSUME we are safe by any means!

It depends what your billing cycle is.
A Chase statement that closes in 2022 qualifies purchases for a 22/23 CP.
One that closes in 2021 does not.

We were approved yesterday, December 5.
It shows up in the Chase online account but no date yet.
I'll keep checking.
