Golf clubs

What does it mean when they say golf clubs in soft bag are subject to "limited release"?

They want you to have a good follow through when you hit the course.

Just kidding...I'm speculating, but I expect limited liability because it is mentioned with the soft case instead of a hard one. Google pops up some similar language for other airlines.

You may need to verify this through the "regular" Southwest help line instead of the forums if it is an issue.

my travel bag is not the hard shell variety.  It is very stiff fabric
